An electret is similar to a magnet, but rather than being permanently magnetized, it has a permanent electric dipole moment. Sup

pose a small electret with electric dipole moment 1.0 × 10−7 Cm is 25 cm from a small ball charged to + 80 nC, with the ball on the axis of the electric dipole.

Answer:

In this question, we need to find the magnitude of the electric force on the ball; the answer is 9.21*10^{-3}N.

Step-by-step explanation:

To resolve this question, we're going to need E=\frac{k(2p)}{r3 } that is the magnitude of an electric field in the axis of a dipole at some distance "r" .

where "p" is the magnitude of the electric dipole moment, so in this case p= 1.0*10^{-7} Cm or what is the same 10^{-7}cm; and k is a constant k value is = k=8.99*10^{9} \frac{Nm2}{C2}

now to get the force on the ball we need to use F=qE where E=\frac{k(2p)}{r3 }

so we have

F= q*\frac{k(2p)}{r3 }

for this, "q" is the charge on the ball, so we got 80nC or what si the same 80×10^{-9}C, and r is the distance between the ball and the dipole, r= 25cm= 0.25m (1m=100cm, so we need to divide 25cm into 100 to get it in meters)

Replacing we got:

F=(80×10^{-9})(8.99×10^{9})(2(10^{-7})) / (0.25)^{3}

and calculating this the answer is 9.21*10^{-3}N

Answer: 6.50 I think

Step-by-step explanation:

I took 32/5=6. 6*5=30 which left 2. I divided that by 4 which gave me .50 that's how I got 6.50. I got the 5 because it takes 5 of the 20% to make 100%

Solve 2 ÷ x =5
Volgvan
So to help with the first one
2 / x = 5
multiply the x on both sides
2 = 5x
divide by 5 to isolate the x
2/5 = x

For the second one
We will use the diamond to help us find the common factor
  \   1  /
   \    /
    \  /
 2 /  \   4
   / 3 \
  /      \

1) the product
2) and 4) the two numbers
and 3) is sum

10 is the product and -7 is the sum
so what two numbers (factors of 10)
will equal -7 when added

so we have these numbers that will equal the product of +10 and we will need to find the ones that will equal -7 as the sum
10*1, 2*5, -1*-10, -2*-5
if we add the two numbers we will find respectively
11, 7, -11, -7
As you can see that -2 + -5 = +10 and -2+-5= +10
So we have found the two numbers
now before we factor the expression looks like
( x + a) (x + b)
and when factored looks like
x^2 + (a+b)x + (a*b)
Now we can plug in the numbers and solve to see if -2 and -5 are right
(x + -2) (x + -5)
we will factor it
x^2 +-5x + -2x + 10
x^2 + -7x + 10
so a = -2 and b = -5

Hope this helps :)

Y=-3x^2-6x+24
Lera25 [3.4K]
The x-intercept is the point at which the function intersects the x-axis.
For any point on the x-axis, y = 0. Thus we can plug in 0 for y and solve for x.

y=-3x^2-6x+24 \\ 0=-3x^2-6x+24

Let's split the middle on this quadratic.
To do this we need to find two numbers that add to equal -6 and multiply to equal -72. (-3 times 24)
Consider ways to multiply to get 72.
72 = 36 ×2...that's not going to work.
72 = 24 × 3
72 = 18 × 4
72 = 12 × 6...and 12 minus 6 is 6!
Let's add our signs; our numbers are -12 and 6.
Now, split the middle and factor.

0=-3x^2-12x+6x+24\\0=-3x(x+4)+6(x+4)\\0=(-3x+6)(x+4)

Now you should know that anything multiplied by zero is zero.
So any value that makes one of those factors equal zero is an x-intercept.
Solve each of these equations.

-3x+6 = 0
-3x = -6
x = 2

x+4 = 0
x = -4

Oh, and since all parabolas (graphs of quadratics) are symmetrical, our axis of symmetry will be the average between the two, which is x=-1.

Now for our y-intercepts. For any points on the y-axis, x=0, so if we plug in 0 for x and solve for y we'll get our y-intercept.

y = -3×0² - 6×0 + 24
y = 0 - 0 + 24
y = 24

What about our vertex? Well, we know it's going to line up with the axis of symmetry, so let's just plug in -1 for x.

y = -3×-1² - 6×-1 + 24
y = -3×1 -6×-1 + 24
y = -3 + 6 + 24
y = 27

Thus the vertex is (-1, 27)

The y value is not going to exceed 27, as this is a decreasing quadratic, (we already know y=24 is a possibilty) and this equation goes downwards infinitely, so our range is (-∞, 27)

As for x, well, it's sort of the input for our equation, meaning it can be whatever we want it to be. Thus the domain is (-∞, ∞)
