Answer

-5 and 5

Explanation

Absolute value generally means the considering the magnitude only but not the sign. -5 and 5 have the same magnitude.

/-5/ = 5

/+5/ = 5

Answer:

-5 and 5

Step-by-step explanation:

absolute values always give a positive value.

whether we input any negative number or any positive number the output will be a positive number.

so, the absolute value of the numbers is

| -5 | = 5

| 5 | = 5

| -3 | = 3

| 8 | = 8

hence the two number which gives the same absolute number is -5 and 5

I don’t understand what’s it asking me to do!! I have done this problem 12 times and I still don’t understand it. :(

Solve for x. so first u would subtract 25 from 25 and 298. 25 will be crossed out so now u are left with 13x<273. to solve that, divide 13 on both sides. 13 would be crossed or so now u are left with x<13. that means x can equal anything less than 13. idk about the rest, i think u can do it. :)

Martha estimated the quotient of -71.81 and -8.02 using
steposvetlana [31]

Option 2

Martha estimated the quotient. Martha error was she should have rounded -8.02 to -8.

SOLUTION:

Given that, Martha estimated the quotient of -71.81 and -8.02 using rounding to the nearest whole number.

And she committed an mistake. We have to find the error made by Martha while calculating quotient.

She treated -71.81 to be 72 and -8.02 to be 9. As both the number are negative there will be no problem when we get quotient.

When treated as above she got quotient as 8.

But in general, the quotient is not 8.

If we see options, we derive an conclusion.

Option (1)

she should have rounded 71.81 to 70, no this is not correct as 72 is nearest whole number.

Option (2)

she should have rounded 8.02 to 8, yes this is correct conclusion.

Option (3)

she should have divided 8 by 72, no this is not correct, we should divided 72 by 8.

Option (4)

she didn’t make an error, this is wrong as in 2nd option we caught an error.

Hence, second option is correct.

Is the following shape a right triangle? How do you know?
vladimir1956 [14]

Answer:

C.

Step-by-step explanation:

The only information you really need in order to determine if this is a right triangle are the slopes of segments AB and BC. If the slopes of these segments are opposite reciprocals of one another, then the lines are perpendicular, and the angle is a right angle (making the triangle a right triangle!). Point A has coordinates (-5, 5), B(-3, 2), C(-6, 0).

The slope of segment AB:

m=\frac{2-5}{-3-(-5)}=-\frac{3}{2}

The slope of segment BC:

m=\frac{0-2}{-6-(-3)}=\frac{2}{3}

As you can see, the slopes are opposite reciprocals of one another so angle ABC is a right angle, and triangle ABC is a right triangle. Choice C is the one you want.

The lowest temperature ever recorded in North America was -63°C. The lowest temperature ever recorded in South America was –32.8
Snowcat [4.5K]

Answer:

  warmer by 30.2 degrees

Step-by-step explanation:

It might help to think of these values plotted on a number line. Both temperatures will be left of zero, with -63°C being farther to the left (colder).

The difference can be found by subtracting the colder temperature from the warmer one:

  -32.8 -(-63) = -32.8 +63 = 63 -32.8 = 30.2 . . . degrees

The South America temperature -32.8°C is 30.2° warmer than the North America temperature.
