Answer is: empirical formula is Fe₂O₃.
m(Fe) = 7,50 g.
m(iron oxide) = 10,71 g.
n(Fe) = m(Fe) ÷ M(Fe).
n(Fe) = 7,50 g ÷ 55,85 g/mol = 0,134 mol.
m(O) = m(iron oxide) - m(Fe).
m(O) = 10,71 g - 7,50 g = 3,21 g.
n(O) = 3,21 g ÷ 16 g/mol = 0,20 mol.
n(Fe) : n(O) = 0,134 mol : 0,2 mol = 2 : 3.

Which shows the correct relationship between the molecular formula and the empirical formula for C2H10N2?
SIZIF [17.4K]
The correct answer is A. molecular formula = 2 x empirical formula

The given compound C2H10N2 is the molecular formula because the ratios of the elements are not reduced into lowest terms (empirical formula). To get the empirical formula, the ratios must be reduced to the smallest possible integral ratio which gives CH5N. As a result, the ratio between both formulas is 2.

Yanka [14]

The mass of CO2 produced by 26g of acetylene is 88g.

Given ,

In an oxyacetylene torch, acetylene gas (ethyne; HCCH) burns to produce carbon dioxide and water vapour.

The acetylene combustion reaction is given by,

H2O + HCCH + 5/2 O=O 2CO2

Heat of reaction for acetylene combustion = 1259kj/mol

CO2 has a molecular mass of 44g/mol.

2 moles of CO2 have a molecular mass of 88g.

On combustion, 1 mole of acetylene yields 2 moles of CO2.

Thus, 26g of acetylene produces 88g of CO2 when burned.

As a result, the mass of carbon dioxide produced by 26g of acetylene is 88g.
