Stress is a natural physical and mental reaction to life experiences. There are many ways to handle the High-Pressure Situations:

  1. Prioritize then strategize. Please take some time to develop a game plan before diving headfirst into any project.
  2. Don't delay because worrying about a task doesn't count as working on it.
  3. Break it up with take short breaks to relieve crunch-time tension.
  4. Request more coverage.

A stressful situation is the condition in which something environmental such as a looming work deadline. It can be psychological such as persistent worry about losing a job. A stressful situation can trigger a cascade of stress hormones that produce well-orchestrated physiological changes.

Natural stress response that releases extra hormones is able to perform well in a high pressure situation. The HPA axis relies hormonal signal series to keep the sympathetic nervous system pressed down. If the brain continues to perceive something as dangerous, the hypothalamus releases corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH), which travels to the pituitary gland, triggering the release of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH). This hormone travels to the adrenal glands, prompting them to release cortisol. When the threat passes, cortisol levels fall. The parasympathetic nervous system then dampens the stress response.
