Mike travelled 16 + 30 = 46 miles.

To find how far Henry travelled we use the Pythagoras Theorem

x^2 = 30^2 + 16^2 = 1156

x = sqrt 1156 = 34 miles

Therefore the answer is 46 - 34 = 12 miles

Mike travelled 12 more miles than Henry.

Jordana is putting a fence around a garden that is shaped like a half circle and a rectangle. How much fencing will Jordana need?
Travka [436]
To find how much fencing Jordana will need you will find the perimeter of the given shape.  This includes 3 straight sides and a rounded side.

28 ft + 14 ft + 28 ft = 70 feet for the straight sides.

To find the distance around the circular side, you will need to find half of the circumference of the circle.

1/2 x pi x d
 1/2 x 22/7 x 14 = 22 feet

70 feet + 22 feet = 92 feet

Jordana will need 92 feet of fencing to enclose this space.

The function f(x) = –x2 + 24x – 80 models the hourly profit, in dollars, a shop makes for selling coffee, where x is the number
Pachacha [2.7K]
The first step is to draw the graph. Once we do this, we can easily see that the vertex is at (12,64), which means that the hourly profit of coffee sold is highest at 12 cups of coffee. The x-intercepts are at x = 4 and x = 20, which means that between 0 and 4 (inclusive) cups of coffee sold, and after 20 cups sold, there is no profit.

(3,0) and (4,4) <br> equation
BigorU [14]

The equation for the given coordinates (3,0) and (4,4) is 4x-y+3=0.

The given coordinates are (3,0) and (4,4).

<h3>What is the formula to find the slope of an equation?</h3>

The formula to find the slope of an equation is m=\frac{y_{2}-y_{1} }{x_{2}-x_{1}}.

Now, slope=\frac{4-0}{4-3} =4.

The equation of the line is (y-y_{1} )=m(x-x_{1} )

⇒(y-3)=4(x-0)

⇒y-3=4x

⇒4x-y+3=0

Therefore, the equation for the given coordinates (3,0) and (4,4) is 4x-y+3=0.
