Answer:

                     1. 10.66 moles of Al

                     2.  2.5 moles of Al₂O₃

                     3. 143.87 g of SO₂

Explanation:

                    The balance chemical equation is as follow,

                                      4 Al + 3 O₂ → 2 Al₂O₃

1.

According to balance chemical equation,

                       3 moles of O₂ required = 4 moles of Al

So,

                     8 moles of O₂ will require = X moles of Al

Solving for X,

                      X =  8 mol × 4 mol / 3 mol

                      X =  10.66 moles of Al

2.

According to balance chemical equation,

                       4 moles of Al produced = 2 moles of Al₂O₃

So,

                     5 moles of Al will produce = X moles of Al₂O₃

Solving for X,

                      X =  5 mol × 2 mol / 4 mol

                      X =  2.5 moles of Al₂O₃

3.

The balance chemical equation for the oxidation of carbon disulfide is as follow;

                                CS₂ + 3 O₂ → CO₂ + 2 SO₂

Step 1: Calculate Moles of CS₂ as;

                  Moles  =  Mass / M.Mass

                  Moles  =  85.5 g / 76.14 g/mol

                  Moles = 1.12 moles of CS₂

Step 2: Find out moles of SO₂ as;

According to balance chemical equation,

                       1 mole of CS₂ produced = 2 moles of SO₂

So,

                     1.12 moles of CS₂ will produce = X moles of SO₂

Solving for X,

                      X =  1.12 mol × 2 mol / 1 mol

                      X =  2.24 moles of SO₂

Step 3: Calculate Mass of SO₂ as;

                  Mass  =  Moles × M.Mass

                  Mass  =  2.24 mol × 64.06 g/mol

                  Mass  =  143.87 g of SO₂

What is the maximum number of hydrogen bonds that can be formed in a sample containing 1.0 mol (NÅ molecules) liquid HF? Compare
MAVERICK [17]

Answer:

Explanation:

In one mole of liquid HF , no of molecules is 6.02 x 10²³.

Each molecule forms two hydrogen bonds on an average so no of hydrogen bonds per mol ih HF is

2 x  6.02 x 10²³.

= 12.04 x 10²³ .

In water no of hydrogen bonds per molecule of water is 4 . So in one mole of water no of hydrogen bonds is

4 x 6.02 x 10²³.

= 24.08 x 10²³ .

5.1169 mol of Ne is held at 0.9148 atm and 911 K. What is the volume of its container in liters?
sveticcg [70]

By applying the Boyle's equation and substituting our given data the volume of the container was found to be 418.14 Litres

Boyle's  Law

Given Data

  • number of moles of Ne = 5.1169 mol
  • Pressure = 0.9148 atm
  • Temperature = 911 K

We know that the relationship between pressure and temperature is given as

PV = nRT

R = 0.08206

Making the volume subject of formula we have

V= nRT/P

Substituting our given data to find the volume we have

V = 5.1169*0.08206*911/0.9148

V = 382.522353554/0.9148

V = 418.14 L

Q #4 please help if you are sure
Mashutka [201]

(Answer) (d) Chemical reaction rates vary with the conditions of the reaction, but nuclear decay rates do not.

Rate of a chemical reaction refers to rate of formation of products from reactions during a chemical reaction. The rates of chemical reactions depend on various factors such as temperature, pressure, concentration of reactants, presence of catalyst etc. For this reason, chemical reaction rates vary with the conditions of the reaction.

Nuclear decay rate refers to the constant ratio of the number of atoms of radioactive nucleus that decay during a certain interval of time to the total number of radioactive atoms at the beginning of the time interval. Nuclear decay rates are constant and do not vary with the conditions of the reaction.
