Explanation:

Centripetal force is:

F = m v² / r

where m is mass, v is velocity, and r is radius.

Force is proportional to mass, so if mass increases, then force also increases.

Bezzdna [24]

The 2 reasons why the descendants of the Gullah Geechee continued to practice horticulture include the following:

  • To preserve their cultural heritage.
  • To provide sources for their staple food.

<h3>What is Horticulture?</h3>

This is the branch of plant agriculture dealing with garden crops, generally fruits, vegetables, and ornamental plants.

The descendants of the Gullah Geechee were made to work on farms which comprised mostly of rice and cotton. They preserve their culture which is why horticulture is practised.

A smooth cube of mass m and edge length r slides with speed v on a horizontal surface with negligible friction. The cube then mo
aleksandr82 [10.1K]

Answer:

Explanation:

(a)

 Applying the conservation of energy for cube,

i.e the initial kinetic energy of the body = its final potential energy

  1/2mv² = mgh

h1 = v²/2g -------------------- (1)

and For cylinder,

the initial kinetic and rotational energy equals the final potential energy

1/2 mv² + 1/2 Iω² = mgh

here I = momentum of inertia of the cylinder

I = 1/2 m R²

∴  1/2 mv² + 1/2 (1/2mR²)v²/R² = mgh

   1/2 mv² + 1/4mv² = mgh

h2 = 3v²/4g -------------- (2)

From equations (1)&(2);

therefore the cylinder will go the greater distance up the incline.

(b)

  h1-h2 = v²/2g - 3v²/4g

            = 0.25 v²/g

the difference between the maximum distances the objects travel up the incline is 0.25*v²/g.

(c)

here we are taking into account of rotational energy.

Please help this is due in 3 hours!!!
3241004551 [841]

(a) PE = 0.016J

(b) PE = 1470J

Explanation:

Given:

Mass, m = 4 kg

distance, x = 0.12 m

Spring constant, k = 2.3N/m

Potential energy, PE = ?

We know:

PE = \frac{1}{2} kx^2

On substituting the value we get:

PE = \frac{1}{2} X 2.3 X (0.12)^2\\\\PE = 0.016J

(b)

Mass, m = 10kg

Height, h = 15m

Potential energy, PE = ?

Acceleration due to gravity, g = 9.8 m/s²

PE = mgh\\\\PE = 10 X 15 X 9.8\\\\PE = 1470J
