It would be great if you added some more details, but for common denominators you try to find the least common number that the 2 or more of the numbers you got have!
For example:
1/2 and 2/3 if you multiply 2 by 3 and 3 by 2, they both are 6, so you would multiply 1/2 both by 3 to make it into 3/6 and 2/3 by 2 to make it into 4/6!

Basically you have to find the lcm for the common denominator so that you can add/subtract them

In the figure below, lines that appear to be tangent are tangent. Point O is the center of the circle. Which of the following is
posledela

Answer:

(D) 120 degrees

Step-by-step explanation:

From the figure drawn, we have

∠ABC=60°

And ∠OAB=∠OCB=90° (angles made by tangent on the circle is 90°)

Thus, ∠AOC+∠OCB∠CBA+∠OAB=360° (Angles sum property of quadrilateral)

x+90^{\circ}+90^{\circ}+60^{\circ}=360^{\circ}

x+240^{\circ}=360^{\circ}

x=120^{\circ}

Therefore, the value of x is 120^{\circ}

Hence, option D is correct.

Two lines are perpendicular if their slope m and m' satisfy the equation

mm'=-1

The slope of the given line is 4, because the line is written in the slope-intercept y=mx+q, where m is the slope.

So, the perpendicular slope is

4m'=-1 \iff m'=-\dfrac{1}{4}

So, we want a line with slope -1/4 and passing through (-1,3). We can use the formula

y-b=m(x-a)

for the line passing trough (a,b) with slope m:

y-3=-\dfrac{1}{4}(x+1) \iff y=-\dfrac{1}{4}x-\dfrac{1}{4}+3\iff y=-\dfrac{1}{4}x+\dfrac{11}{4}
