Answer: D. 1.5 s; 42 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : A  ball is thrown into the air with an upward velocity of 48 ft/s. Its height h in feet after t seconds is given by the function

h(t) = -16t^2 + 48t + 6

To find the time taken to reach the maximum height by the ball , we differentiate the above function  with respect to 't', we get

h' (t)=(2) -16t+ 48(1) + (0)=-32t+48

Now put h' (x) =0 , we get

-32t+48=0\\\\\Rightarrow\ t=\dfrac{48}{32}=\dfrac{3}{2}\\\\\Rightarrow\ t=1.5

Hence, it will take 1.5 seconds to reach the maximum height by the ball.

The maximum height of the ball at t= 1.5 seconds will be :

h(t) = -16(1.5)^2 + 48(1.5) + 6=-36+72+6=42 \text{ ft}

Hence, the correct option is D. 1.5 s; 42 ft.

The answer to this, your question is                                                                               h = -16t • 2 + 48t + 6
h = -32t + 48t + 6
h = 16t + 6     HOPE I HELPED IN A WAY!                                                                                                                                             ~Marcey<3

What is the solutions to 0=x^2-x-6<br> two things <br> ,,quadratic equationz,,,
natita [175]

Answer:

x1=3. x2=-2

Step-by-step explanation:

x =  \frac{ - b +  -  \sqrt{b {}^{2} - 4ac } }{2a}

b=-1

a=1

c=-6

x =  \frac{ - ( - 1) +  -  \sqrt{ {( - 1)}^{2} - 4 \times 1 \times ( - 6) } }{2 \times 1}

x =  \frac{1 +  -  \sqrt{1 + 24} }{2}

x =  \frac{1 + -   \sqrt{25} }{2}

x1 =  \frac{1 + 5}{2}

x2 =  \frac{1 - 5}{2}

x1=3

x2=-2

x =  \frac{1 +  - 5}{2}

Which expression represents the following statement: x is no less than 0. x&gt;0 x≤0 x≥0 x&lt;0
ki77a [65]

Answer: x ≥ 0

Step-by-step explanation:

First, let's define the symbols used:

a < x              (this means that a is strictly smaller than x)

a > x              (this means that a is strictly larger than x)

a ≤ x              (this means that a is smaller than or equal to x)

a ≥ x              (this means that a is larger than or equal to x)

Now we have the statement "x is no less than 0"

Then x can be equal to zero, or larger than zero, but never smaller than zero.

Looking at the symbols above, we know that we need to use:

x ≥ 0

(this is equivalent to the statement)
