Answer:

x-y=3-1=2

Step-by-step explanation:

8x-4y=20                            4x-8y=4

8x=20+4y                            4(\frac{20+4y}{8})-8y=4

 x=\frac{20+4y}{8}                                               \frac{80+16y}{8} -8y=4

 x=\frac{20+4}{8}                                                10+2y-8y=4

x=\frac{24}{8}                                                 10-6y=4

x=3                                                  -6y=4-10

                                                   -6y=-6

                                                    y=1<u></u>

so x-y=3-1=2

x = amount of rent paid per half year

2x = amount of rent paid annually

y = amount spent on groceries per quarter

4y = amount spent on groceries annually

z = amount spent on a transit pass monthly

If f(x)=x sqrt -25 and g(x)=x-5, what is the domain of (f/g)(x)?
givi [52]

Answer:

<h2>R-{5}</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x)=x²-25=(x-5)(x+5)

g(x)=x-5

(f/g)(x)=<em>(x-5)</em>(x+5)/<em>(x-5)</em>=x+5;   for x≠5

D=R-{5}
