Based on a Comcast survey, there is a 0.8 probability that a randomly selected adult will watch prime-time TV live, instead o

f online, on DVR, etc. Assume that seven adults are randomly selected. Find the probability that fewer than three of the selected adults watch prime-time live.

Answer: Our required probability is 0.004672.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Number of adults = 7

Probability of getting adult will watch prime time TV live = 0.8

We need to find the probability that fewer than 3 of the selected adults watch prime time live.

We will use "Binomial Distribution":

here, n = 7

p = 0.8

So, P(X<3)=P(X=0)+P(X=1)+P(X=2)

So, it becomes,

P(X=0)=(1-0.8)^7=0.2^7=0.0000128

P(X=1)=^7C_1(0.8)(0.2)^6=0.0003584\\\\P(X=2)=^7C_2(0.8)^2(0.2)^5=0.0043

So, probability that fewer than 3 of the selected adult watch prime time live is given by

0.0000128+0.0003584+0.0043=0.004672

Hence, our required probability is 0.004672.

What is the answer to this
arlik [135]

S\frac{O}{H} C\frac{A}{H} T\frac{O}{A} or Sin\frac{Opposite}{Hypotenuse}Cos\frac{Adjacent}{Hypotenuse} Tan\frac{Opposite}{Adjacent}

At the point/angle E:

- the adjacent side(side <u>next to</u> the point/angle) is ED

- the opposite side(side of the triangle <u>across</u> from the point/angle) is DF

- the hypotenuse (the<u> longest side</u> of the triangle) is EF.

sin ∠E = \frac{opposite}{hypotenuse}

sin ∠E = \frac{6}{10} = \frac{3}{5} (simplified)

18 bikes, 9 have gears (G), 11 have suspension (S) and 5 with both,What is the probability that a bike with suspension or gears?
vichka [17]

Answer:

  • 5/9

Step-by-step explanation:

  • Total number of bikes = 18
  • Bikes with gears S = 9
  • Bikes with suspension S = 11
  • Bikes with both GS = 5

<u>From the information above we have:</u>

  • Bikes with gears only = 9 - 5 = 4
  • Bikes with suspension only = 11 - 5 = 6

<u>Sum of the above two gives us the number of bikes with suspension or gears:</u>

  • 4 + 6 = 10

<u>Probability of selected bike be G or S is:</u>

  • P(G or S) = 10/18 = 5/9

Need help with this work sheet
Lesechka [4]

Answer:

its alot to explain but i will try to make it as simple as possible

Step-by-step explanation:

your first goal is to make each problem into the form ax^2+bx+c=0

number 1, 2, 7 and 8 is already done for you

now all you have to do is plug in each number in the standard form into the quadtratic formula.

basically at this point you can just use your calculator to do the rest of the work. dont forget parentheses so it doesnt get confused...

or you can perform the algebraic work.. its all just a matter of plugging in the right numbers into the quadratic formula...

cant really do the work for you since im on my phone. but yeah all you need to do step one is transform each problem into ax^2+bx+c=0 form

then step 2, plug in each number in to the quadtratic formula. from there calculate using basic algebraic rules
