Tropical forests is a type of phytogeographic domain characterized by receiving a large amount of rainfall and presenting high levels of biodiversity and evapotranspiration. These forests are considered the biome with the most diverse communities of organisms.
Rainforests are located in equatorial areas, ie near the equator line, and in areas near the tropics. It occurs on the American, African and Asian continents, but in Brazil they are called the Amazon Rainforest, Atlantic Forest, and some vegetation groups in the south of the country, such as the Araucaria Forest.
