Antidiuretic hormone stimulates water reabsorbtion by stimulating insertion of "water channels" or aquaporins into the membranes of kidney tubules. These channels transport solute-free water through tubular cells and back into blood, leading to a decrease in plasma osmolarity and an increase osmolarity of urine.

A frustrated 26-year-old female has sought a referral to a dermatologist in an effort to resolve her sweating and body odor whic
alexgriva [62]

Answer: Apocrine sweat gland produce a substance that is more oily than sweat from other sources.

Explanation: Apocrine glands are one of the glands in the body that are found in the skin and eyelids as sweat glands,in the ear they secrete earwax and they secrete milk droplets in the breast.

Body odour is the product of bacteria, environment dirts and sweats that accumulates in the skin. Stress can also be a cause of body odour and this happens when we excercise or engage in stressful activities, unlike the eccrine glands in our body that produces watery sweat, apocrine glands that are mainly found in the ampits and groins which produces fatty sweats which are always triggered by anxiety, when these apocrine glands produces fatty sweats, these fatty seats are higher in protein making it easy for bacteria to break down, the bacteria in these areas (groins and ampits) are exposed leading to body odour.

If brown eyes are dominant over blue eyes, which of the following genotypes would cause an individual to have brown eyes? bb Bb
kolezko [41]
Both b and c, BB being both homozygous for brown eyes, and Bb being heterozygous being B= brown / b= blue & since Brown eyes are dominate over blue eyes it would certainly have a much higher percentage (75%/100%) of having brown eyes rather than blue eyes

A cell in the testes of a male bald eagle is getting ready to begin meiosis. The diploid number for this bird species is 66. How
Ostrovityanka [42]

Answer:

Replicated chromosomes at metaphase I = 66

Sister chromatids at metaphase I = 66 x 2 = 132

Sister chromatids at prophase II = 66

Chromosomes in each sperm cells = 33

Explanation:

Metaphase I of meiosis I would have 66 replicated chromosomes in the testicular cells of the bird. Each of the replicated chromosomes would have two sister chromatids. So, a total of 66 replicated chromosomes would have 66 x 2 = 132 sister chromatids.

Due to segregation of homologous chromosomes towards opposite poles in anaphase I, each daughter cell formed by the end of meiosis I would have 33 replicated chromosomes. So, each of the daughter cells would have a total 33 x 2 = 66 sister chromatids at prophase II.

Since meiosis II maintains the chromosome number, each sperm cell formed by the end of meiosis II would have 33 chromosomes.
