In the case of CPR or BVM, you should check the patient's airways, and on occasion keep a rigid suction catheter at the ready while laying the patient in the recovery position. You may have actually been applying positive pressure, with the air going into the stomach which has little tolerance for air, and may cause vomiting.

Just always remember though, Check the Airway.

How should the nurse proceed when instilling neomycin and polymyxin b sulfates and hydrocortisone optic suspension, two drops in
Aleksandr [31]

The nurse should verify the proper client and route. The rationale behind this is a nurse should monitor the five "Rs" of medication administration: right client, right drug, right dose, right route, and right time. The drops may be warmed to prevent pain or dizziness, but this act isn't important. An emesis basin would be used for irrigation of the ear. The client should be placed in the lateral position for five minutes, not semi-Fowler's position, to prevent the drops from draining.
