What’s the answer to #12? and why
Elena L [17]
Remark
If there are 5 distinct zeros that means either that the x axis is crossed the x axis 5 different places or touched the x axis in 1 place out the 5. Touching in one place means that an even number of roots are the same.

So let's go through all of them to get an answer of 5.

A has 4 x intercepts. It is not the right answer. We need 5.
B has 4 x intercepts. It is not the right answer. We need 5.
C has 6 x intercepts. Not the one we want.
D has 5 x distinct zeros. The wording is a bit tricky. It does not matter than one of them just touches the x axis. There could be an even number of distinct zeros there, but it only counts as one root.

An example of such a graph is f(x)=\left(\frac{1}{10}(x+2)(x+1.5)(x+1)(x-2)^4(x-3)\right)

liberstina [14]
It sounds like they had $708.88 at the beginning, however by the end of the year they OWED $347.99. The first number is in the positive while the other is a negative. Add the last number to the first number for the amount that they have spent which would be $1,056.87.

A set of weights includes a 5 lb barbell and 4 pairs of weight plates. Each pair of
Zina [86]

Answer:

The answer to this question would be B:

Based on the question, since the weight of the weight plates are 20 lbs, this would be represented by the 20x in the function. As well, the 5 lb barbell would be represented by the 5 in the function. The range of the function is determined by the amount of weight plates are added. So if I added one weight plate the equation would equal, f(x) = 20(1) + 5 = 25. This continues on the more and more weight plates you add.

Hope this reached you well :)

Step-by-step explanation:

20 = weight of the weight plates

x = amount of weight plates.

5 = weight of the barbell

f(x) = 20(0) + 5 = 5

f(x) = 20(1) + 5 = 25

f(x) = 20(2) + 5 = 45

f(x) = 20(3) + 5 = 65

f(x) = 20(4) + 5 = 85

How would i create a real life example that can be modeled by the expression -2×4
solong [7]
Bob is diving
he is at a depth of 2 meters below sea level
sam goes down 4 times as deep
how deep is sam

depth is a negative thing because you are 2 below 0 or -2
then we mutiply -2 by 4 to get 4 times to get -8 meters below sea level
