The nutritional labels on a food product generally include information about the amount of iron present in the product along with vitamin C, vitamin A, and calcium.

Further Explanation:

A food label or a nutrition label helps keep track of the amount of fat, sugar, salt, and other nutrients in the food product. It becomes much easier to compare different foods by reading the labels on them and choosing the food with high nutritional value. The description on the food label helps one control his/her sugar, fat, or cholesterol consumption on a daily basis as one can compare different food items and make a healthy choice by buying a product containing less percentage of cholesterol or fat.

These labels indicate information about contents such as fats, sugars, carbohydrates, salts, protein, fibers, vitamins, and minerals with the amount of energy each provide as calories. The Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the United States decide what information must be written on the food label.

A food label includes the following:

a. Serving size: A serving size is important as the other information on a food label is given according to that amount.

b. Calories: The amount of energy a food provides is usually measured by the calories it contains. The percentage of fat given on a food label tells about the number of calories one serving of that particular food provides the body.

c.   Nutrients and their amount: The nutrients such as fats, sodium, and cholesterol need to be controlled in the diet as they increase the risk of various diseases such as high blood pressure and heart diseases. The amount of these nutrients is mentioned on a food label so as to make correct choices on choosing a food containing less of these nutrients. On the other hand, nutrients like vitamin A, calcium, iron, and vitamin C are also mentioned on a nutrition label as these are essential nutrients and must be added to the diet. These nutrients help improve health and also decrease the risk of various diseases. For example, a diet rich in calcium helps to keep the bones healthy.

What is one item vegetarians can eat to get their protein
Ilya [14]
The easiest (and possibly tastiest) answer is nuts.  All varieties of nuts: almonds, peanuts, cashews, pecans, hazelnuts – you name it.  And for those of you who like it smooth, peanut butter is an excellent source of protein with 4 grams per tablespoon.  Watch the salt though: the USDA recommends choosing unsalted nuts to keep the sodium intake low.
