If we want to figure out the ages of Octavia and her brother we will need to check our information.
their ages add up to 39 and her brother is 7 years older than her
first you will think of all numbers that equal 39; 1+38, 2+37, 3+36, 4+35, 5+34, 6+33, 7+32, 8+31, 9+30, 10+29, 11+28, 12+27, 13+26, 14+25, 15+24, 16+23, 17+22, 18+21,and 19+20
then eliminate all the numbers that don't have a difference of 7 which will leave the following; the only numbers left are 16 and 23

so that means that her brother is 23 and Octavia is 16

Angle D and Angle F are supplementary. The measure of Angle D is (3x + 5), and the measure of angle F is (2x). What is the measu
olga55 [171]

Step-by-step explanation:

Two angles are called suplementary when their measures add to 180 degrees.

D+F= 180

3x+5+2x= 180

5x+5=180

5x= 175

x= 35°

angle D = 3x+5= 3(35)+5= 110°

How many quarter hours are in 5 hours?
nikklg [1K]
There is a few ways to get the result.
Lets try this.
First calculate how many minutes are in the 5 hours.
60min*5=300min - in 5 hours
Now, knowing that quarter is 15min we can divide 300 by 15 to get the result, so
300:15=20 - its the result.

Verify the identity
Igoryamba

Answer:

We have to prove

sin⁡(α+β)-sin⁡(α-β)=2 cos⁡ α sin ⁡β

We will take the left hand side to prove it equal to right hand side

So,

=sin⁡(α+β)-sin⁡(α-β) Eqn 1

We will use the following identities:

sin⁡(α+β)=sin⁡ α cos⁡ β+cos⁡ α sin⁡ β

and

sin⁡(α-β)=sin⁡ α cos ⁡β-cos ⁡α sin ⁡β

Putting the identities in eqn 1

=sin⁡(α+β)-sin⁡(α-β)

=[ sin⁡ α cos ⁡β+cos⁡ α sin⁡ β ]-[sin⁡ α cos ⁡β-cos ⁡α sin ⁡β ]

=sin⁡ α cos⁡ β+cos⁡ α sin ⁡β- sin⁡α cos⁡ β+cos ⁡α sin ⁡β

sin⁡α cos⁡β will be cancelled.

=cos⁡ α sin ⁡β+ cos ⁡α sin ⁡β

=2 cos⁡ α sin ⁡β

Hence,

sin⁡(α+β)-sin⁡(α-β)=2 cos ⁡α sin ⁡β

Which sequences are arithmetic? Check all that apply.
spin [16.1K]

Answer:

3) 18, 5.5, –7, –19.5, –32, … sequence is in Arithmetic Progression.

5) 16, 32, 48, 64, 80 sequence is in Arithmetic Progression.

Step-by-step explanation:

If, a, b, c ,k, e ... is a given sequence.

Then the above sequence is in AP if b - a = c - b = k - c = ...

or, each term has same COMMON DIFFERENCE (d).

Here, take each sequence and check for the value of d.

1) –5, 5, –5, 5, –5, …

Here, 5 - (-5) = 10, -5 - 5 = -10

and 10 ≠ -10. So the sequence is NOT in Arithmetic Progression.

2)96, 48, 24, 12, 6

Here, 48 - 96 = -48, 24 - 48 = -24

and -48 ≠ -24. So the sequence is NOT in Arithmetic Progression.

3)18, 5.5, –7, –19.5, –32, …

Here, 5.5 - 18 = -12.5 , -7 - 5.5 = -12.5 ..

and -12.5 is the common difference.

So the sequence is in Arithmetic Progression.

4)–1, –3, –9, –27, –81, …

Here, -3-(-1) = - 2 -9 - (-3) = -6

and -2 ≠ -6. So the sequence is NOT in Arithmetic Progression.

5)16, 32, 48, 64, 80

Here, 32 - 16 = 16 , 48 - 32= 16 ..

and 16 is the common difference.

So the sequence is in Arithmetic Progression.
