FG : (3,7)(-4,-5)
slope = (-5 - 7) / (-4-3) = -12/-7 = 12/7

y = mx + b
slope(m) = 12/7
(3,7)...x = 3 and y = 7
now we sub, we r looking for b, the y int
7 = 12/7(3) + b
7 = 36/7 + b
7- 36/7 = b
49/7 - 36/7 = b
13/7 = b
so ur equation is : y = 12/7 + 13/7.....slope = 12/7, y int = 13/7

HI : (-1,0)(4,6)
slope = (6 - 0) / (4 - (-1) = 6/5

no need to go any farther.....these lines have different slopes...and their not negative reciprocals....so there will be one solution. Answer is : neither.

Answer:

Option C neither is the answer.

Step-by-step explanation:

Line FG contains points F( 3,7 ) and G( -4,-5 )

and HI contains points H( -1,0 ) and I ( 4, 6 )

Now we have to find these lines are parallel or perpendicular.

If these lines are parallel then slope FG and HI line will same.

Similarly if lines are perpendicular then multiplications of the slopes of these lines will be = -1

Slope of FG (m_{1}) = \frac{y-y'}{x-x'} =(\frac{7+5}{3+4})=\frac{12}{7}

Now slope of HI (m_{2}) =\frac{6-0}{4+1}=\frac{6}{5}

For parallel lines m_{1} should be equal to m_{2}

But \frac{12}{7} ≠ \frac{6}{5} so lines are not parallel.

For perpendicular lines m_{1} × m_{2} = -1

But \frac{12}{7} × \frac{6}{5} = \frac{72}{35} ≠ -1

So lines are neither parallel nor perpendicular.

Option C neither is the answer.

Lauren is a college sophomore majoring in business. This semester Lauren is taking courses in accounting, economics, management
Alexxandr [17]

Answer:

a) We can calculate the mean with the following formula:

\bar X = \frac{\sum_{i=1}^n X_i}{n}

And replacing we got:

\bar X= \frac{350+ 70+ 65 +50+ 60}{5} =119

And for the median first we need to order the dataset on increasing way:

50, 60, 65, 70, 350

Since the sample size is an odd number we can calculate the median as the middle position for the dataset, for this case the 3th position and we got:

Median = 65

b) For this case we can see that we have an outlier present in the data 350, and for this case if we want to give a measure of central tendency is better use the median since this meaure is not affected by outliers. So Lauren should use the median.

Step-by-step explanation:

For this case we have the following data:

350, 70, 65, 50, 60

Part a

We can calculate the mean with the following formula:

\bar X = \frac{\sum_{i=1}^n X_i}{n}

Median = 65

Part b

For this case we can see that we have an outlier present in the data 350, and for this case if we want to give a measure of central tendency is better use the median since this meaure is not affected by outliers. So Lauren should use the median.

The function f(x) is given by the set of ordered pairs.
Lana71 [14]

The equation that is true and one that matches the set of ordered pairs of functions is option C. f (0) = 6

<h3>What is the equation about?</h3>

Note that a function can be made to be a given set of ordered pairs such as the ordered pairs (2,4), (3,5), (4,6)  can have  input functions of (as domain) 2,3,4 and output functions of (as range) of 4,5,6.

So when you see the ordered pairs. {(1,0), (–10,2), (0,6), (3,17), (–2, –1)} one can see that the option that matches to the set of ordered pairs of functions above is f (0) = 6 value x = 0, f (x) = y = 6, ordered pairs (0.6)

See full question below

The function f (x) is given by the set of ordered pairs. {(1,0), (–10,2), (0,6), (3,17), (–2, –1)}:Which equation is true?

f(-10)=1

f(2)=-10

f(0)=6

f(1)=-10

The answer choices are :

f (-10) = 1 values x = -10, f (x) = y = 1, ordered pairs (-10,1)

f (2) = - 10 values x = 2, f (x) = y = -10, ordered pairs (2, -10)

f (0) = 6 value x = 0, f (x) = y = 6, ordered pairs (0.6)

f (1) = - 10 values x = 1, f (x) = y = -10, ordered pairs (1, -10)

victus00 [196]
All you need to do is divide 6.64 and 1.35. you would get 4.91851852. But, you need to round to the nearest tenth so it would actually be 4.9.
