When asked to write a point-slope equation for a line passing through the points (-2, -2) and (2, 1), a student wrote y - 1 = -3

/4(x - 2). How can she fix this to write the correct equation?
A - That is the correct equation, no changes are necessary.
B - Change the sign of the slope.
C - Distribute -3/4 to each term in parentheses.
D - Change the minus signs to plus signs.

I think it's B, help me out a bit. (-3/4 is the slope, it's saying remove the negative sign).

Which equation represents the line that passes through the
andreev551 [17]

Answer:

y = 1/5x + 2 1/5

Step-by-step explanation:

first find the negative reciprocal slope of 5x + y = 30 because perpendicular lines have negative reciprocal slope:

=> y = -5x + 30, negative reciprocal of the slope -5 is 1/5

substitute the new slope 1/5 and the coordinate (9, 4) into the equation: y = mx + b  to solve for b

=> 4 = 1/5(9) + b

=> 4 = 9/5 + b

=> b = 2 1/5

plug in the slope 1/5 and b = 2 1/5 into the equation: y = mx + b

=> y = 1/5x + 2 1/5

tensa zangetsu [6.8K]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve this, you need to find the unit price by dividing the cost by the amount. For Mike, divide $2 by 2 to get 1. So, Mike sells hot dogs for $1. Next, divide 2.25 by 3 to get $0.75. So, Sue sells hot dogs for $0.75.

Joe: $1.50

Mike: $1

Jen: $1.25

Sue: $0.75

So, the best deal is Sue because it is the cheapest per unit. Hope this helped!
