A sauce recipe uses 4 cans of tomatoes in every 212 quarts.
Burka [1]

Answer:

1\frac{3}{5}\ cans

Step-by-step explanation:

<u><em>The correct question is</em></u>

A sauce recipe uses 4 cans of tomatoes in every 2 1/2 quarts.

How many cans of tomatoes are used in each quart of the sauce?

Let

x ----> the number of cans of tomatoes

we know that

2\frac{1}{2}\ quarts=\frac{2*2+1}{2}=\frac{5}{2}\ quarts

using proportion

\frac{4}{(5/2)}\frac{cans}{quarts}=\frac{x}{1}\frac{cans}{quart}\\\\x=4/(5/2)\\\\x=\frac{8}{5}\ cans

Convert to mixed number

\frac{8}{5}\ cans=\frac{5}{5}+\frac{3}{5}=1\frac{3}{5}\ cans

By selling old CDs, Sarah has a store credit for $153. A new CD costs $18. What are the possible numbers of new CDs Sarah can bu
Viktor [21]
To calculate this we simply need to devide 153 by 18.
153/18=8.5
which means that Sarah can buy 8 new CDs and will have
153 - 8*18=9 dollars spare.
Sarah has extra cash because with that spare money she can't buy whole new CD.
