The fact that surface area to volume decreases as size increase. There is a limit to this ratio where the surface area can no longer be sufficient to provide nutrients, ions and other things from the outside environment to the inside. Eukaryotes compenaste for this by having organized organneles and they tend to work together to form tissues and then organs.

9. in your own words compare and contrast cell division in prokaryotes and eukaryotes
Ivanshal [37]

Answer:

Cell division is simpler in prokaryotes than eukaryotes because prokaryotic cells themselves are simpler. Prokaryotic cells have a single circular chromosome, no nucleus, and few other cell structures. Eukaryotic cells, in contrast, have multiple chromosomes contained within a nucleus, and many other organelles.

Density is mass per unit of volume. Which pair of lab instruments would a student use to measure the density of seawater?
9966 [12]

Answer: C. a balance and a beaker

Explanation:

A balance would be used to measure the weight, which in turn effectively measures the mass (more or less). Imagine that we have a brick that we know is 1 pound. If we have an object that needs 5 bricks on one side to balance it out, then we know the object is 5 pounds.

The beaker is used to measure the volume. It's basically a measuring cup that you would find in the kitchen.

To get the density, you divide the mass over volume.

For example, if you have a material that has a mass of 100 grams and it's volume is 20 cm^3, then its density is 100/20 = 5 grams per cm^3.

How is mRNA, tRNA, rRNA important to protein production

How do desert plants conserve the water available in their body?
Sveta_85 [38]
Well for starters, they do not have leaves which reduces transpiration. They also grow really long roots that can absorb the smallest traces of moisture in the earth.
