Amount of dog treat that Dieon gives his dog each day = 1/8
Let us assume the number of days the dog treat will last = x
Then
(1/8) * x = (3/4)
x/8 = 3/4
x = (3 * 8)/4

For this part we want to find a value a, such that we satisfy this condition:
