Max is analyzing the test scores he earned in his biology class. The class had 7 tests, on which he scored 85, 93, 78, 90, 88, 9

7, and 88. What is the mean of the data set? What is the median of the data set? What is the mode of the data set?

Hello!

First of all, we need to find the mean. To find it, we add up all of the scores and divide by the number of tests.

85+93+78+90+88+97+88=619

619/7≈88.43

Mean≈88.43

Now we need to find the median. First we order the numbers from least to greatest.

78,85,88,88,90,93,97

Now we have to find the middle number. As you can see, the number in the middle is 88.

Median: 88

Finally, we need to find the mode. This is the number that appears the most. As you can see, 88 appears twice, while all of the others appear only once. Therefore, our mode is 88.

Mode:88

I hope this helps!

max has scored 85,93,78,90,88,97,88 in 7 test.

we need to find mean ,median ,mode for this data set .

mean =sum of the all observations /total number of observations

mean=(78+80+85+88+88+90+97)/(7)=606/7=86.57we know that to find median we have check first whether we have odd or even number of terms .we have 7 data set which means odd.so the median=[tex] (n+1)/2

(7+1)/2=4.

4th term is the median of this data set.

we know that 88 is the 4th data as we arranged in ascending order.

mode is the maximum frequency of data.

we know that 88 was repeated two times so 88 is the mode of this data set

svetoff [14.1K]

The profit equation which relates P, profit to N, quantity produced and sold is:

P=17.75N-750

What is the total cost function?

The total production cost function, whereby total cost is C is as given below:

C=750+15.95N(look at a similar question provided)

What is the total revenue function?

The total revenue function is as given below:

R=33.70N

The profit is the excess of total revenue over total cost, in other words, profit is the total revenue minus total cost

P=33.70N-(750+15.95N)

P=33.70N-750-15.95N

P=33.70N-15.95N-750

A film distribution manager calculates that 7% of the films released are flops. If the manager is correct, what is the probabili
diamong [38]

Answer:

0.9909 = 99.09% probability that the proportion of flops in a sample of 404 released films would be greater than 4%

Step-by-step explanation:

I am going to use the binomial approximation to the normal to solve this question.

Binomial probability distribution

Probability of exactly x sucesses on n repeated trials, with p probability.

Can be approximated to a normal distribution, using the expected value and the standard deviation.

The expected value of the binomial distribution is:

E(X) = np

The standard deviation of the binomial distribution is:

\sqrt{V(X)} = \sqrt{np(1-p)}

Normal probability distribution

Problems of normally distributed samples can be solved using the z-score formula.

In a set with mean \mu and standard deviation \sigma, the zscore of a measure X is given by:

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

The Z-score measures how many standard deviations the measure is from the mean. After finding the Z-score, we look at the z-score table and find the p-value associated with this z-score. This p-value is the probability that the value of the measure is smaller than X, that is, the percentile of X. Subtracting 1 by the pvalue, we get the probability that the value of the measure is greater than X.

When we are approximating a binomial distribution to a normal one, we have that \mu = E(X), \sigma = \sqrt{V(X)}.

In this problem, we have that:

p = 0.07, n = 404. So

\mu = E(X) = np = 404*0.07 = 28.28

\sigma = \sqrt{V(X)} = \sqrt{np(1-p)} = \sqrt{404*0.07*0.93} = 5.13

If the manager is correct, what is the probability that the proportion of flops in a sample of 404 released films would be greater than 4%?

This is the pvlaue of Z when X = 0.04*404 = 16.16. So

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

Z = \frac{16.16 - 28.28}{5.13}

Z = -2.36

Z = -2.36 has a pvalue of 0.0091

1 - 0.0091 = 0.9909

0.9909 = 99.09% probability that the proportion of flops in a sample of 404 released films would be greater than 4%
