Lawrence Kohlberg was responsible for creating the Moral Development theory, which showed a relationship between the moral development of an individual and the cognitive development of that individual as a child, through 3 levels of morality, where each level had 2 sub-stages. To illustrate these stages, he used Piaget's storytelling technique where he told stories to an audience. These stories had moral dilemmas and two options that people in the audience should choose based on what they thought was right.

With this experiment, he managed to point out all human beings, regardless of their race, religion or nationality are able to reach a full level of morality.
