Current population = 500,000
Populaton is
500,000 * (1.0375) after 1 year
500,000 * (1.0375)² after 2 years
...
500,000 * (1.0375)ˣ after x years

Therefore when the population reaches a million,
500,000 * (1.0375)ˣ = 1,000,000
1.0375ˣ = 2
x ln(1.0375) = ln(2)
x = ln(2) / ln(1.0375) = 18.83 years

Answer:  18.8 years, or approximately 19 years.

During a race, Bernie ran 9meters every 4 seconds, while Wendel ran 2 meters every second and got a 9-meter head start. If the r
sdas [7]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

No, because Bernie had to run 9 meters 7.77777778 time (70/9) and each of those 9-meter sections took 4 seconds, so her time was 31.1111111 (7.77777778*4). While Wendel had to run 61 meters 70-his headstart (9 meters) (70-9). So he only had to run 30.5 blocks of 2 meters (61/2). And since they're only 1 second long, it's 30.5*1=30.5.

So the answer is a NO because (Bernie) 31.1111111 seconds > 30.5 seconds (Wendel).

Given right triangle GYK, what is the value of tan(G)?
Ludmilka [50]

<u>Answer:</u>

The value of tan(G) in the  right triangle GYK Is \sqrt{3}

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

Given

Measure of angle at G=60^{\circ}

Measure of angle at Y=30^{\circ}

Measure of angle at K=90^{\circ}

To find:

\tan (G)=?

Solution:

In trigonometry we know that

\tan G=\frac{\sin G}{\cos G}

G=60^{\circ}

So,

\sin (60)=\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}

\cos (60)=\frac{1}{2}

Substituting in the formula we have,

\tan G=\frac{\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}}{\frac{1}{2}}

\tan G=\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2} \times \frac{2}{1}

\tan G=\frac{\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}}{\frac{1}{2}}

\tan G=\sqrt{3}

Result:

Thus the value of \tan G=\sqrt{3}
