Distribute as we get,

[(3x*2)-(2*1)]+[(4x*2)+(5*2)]=8\\(6x-2)+(8x+10)=8

Remove the brackets,

6x-2+8x+10=8

Then combine,

14x+8=8

Move +8 to the right side and change the +8 to -8 (The operator must be the opposite when move to the other side.)

14x=8-8\\14x=0

Move 14 to the right side so we can find the value of x. (Because it's x multiply 14 then 0 will be divided by 14.)

x=\frac{0}{14}

Therefore, x = 0.

Answer:

x=0

Step-by-step explanation:

2(3x - 1) + 2(4x + 5) = 8

Distribute

6x -2 +8x +10 =8

Combine like terms

14x +8 = 8

Subtract 8 from each side

14x+8-8=8-8

14x =0

Divide each side by 14

14x/14 = 0/14

x=0

the table below shows a proportional relationship fill in the missing values servings 12 ,4 16 ,8 ounces 21 ? ? ? please help wi
Karolina [17]

Answer: the missing values are 7, 28 and 14

Step-by-step explanation:

In a proportional relationship, there is a constant relationship between the given variables. Thus, for any change in the value of one variable, there is a corresponding change in the value of the other variable.

The table shows a proportional relationship between values of servings

12 ,4 16 ,8

and values of ounces

21 ? ? ?

Let the missing values be x, y and z

Therefore,

21/12 = x/4

1.75 = x/4

x = 4 × 1.75

x = 7

21/12 = y/16

y = 16 × 1.75 = 28

21/12 = z/8

z = 1.75 × 8 = 14

Given the equation 5x − 4 = –2(3x + 2), solve for the variable. Explain each step and justify your process.
lesya692 [45]

When you use the Distributive Property, we will find...
5x - 4 = -6x - 4
Eliminate 4 by adding it to both sides.
5x = -6x
Add 6x to both sides and we get 11x = 0.
11x = 0
Divide both sides by 11.

x=0

The only mistake Megan made was when adding 5x with Megan accidentally subtracting 5x from the other side.

For this problem:
3(2x − 4) = 5x − 1
Distribute
6x - 12 = 5x - 1
Add 1 to both sides
6x - 11 = 5x
Subtract 6x from both sides
-11 = -x
Divide both sides by -1.
x = 11.

Can someone please help me out with these questions?
Furkat [3]

Given : y = 8 - 9x

(a) we need to find value of y when x = 2

substituting x = 2 in y = 8 -9x , we get :

y = 8 - 9(2)

y = 8 - 18

y = -10

(b) we need to find value of y when x = 0

substituting x = 0 in y = 8 -9x , we get :

y = 8 - 9(0)

y = 8 - 0

y = 8
