Answer: The correct answer is -

Genes.

Gregor Mendel worked with pea plants in order to find out the inheritance pattern of certain traits from parents to their next generation.

He proposed that for every characteristic in an organism, there are two basic factors (inherited from each parent).

These factors/units were later called genes (which are considered as unit of heredity) and are located on chromosomes.

Genes can be described as the segment of DNA that codes for a particular trait /characteristic of an organism.

For example - 'T' and 't' gene correspond to tall and dwarf height of pea plant respectively.

Thus, gene is the right answer.

When large masses of magma solidify far below Earth’s surface, they form igneous rocks that have a _____.
telo118 [61]

Answer:

coarse-grained texture

Explanation:

Igneous rocks come from magma of volcanos and they cool and end up becoming hard. A perfect example of this is granite, which contains a lot of minerals such as quartz and feldspar. Igneous rocks contain a lot of minerals hence why they have a coarse-grained texture.

Hope this helped :)

based on the 1:2:1 proportions of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen, it can be determined that a glucose molecule is a
hichkok12 [17]

Answer:

Carbohydrate (monosaccharide)

Explanation:

Carbohydrates are one of the four biological molecules in nature. Carbohydrates are structurally composed of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen elements. However, these elements (C,H,O) are present in each carbohydrate in the ratio 1:2:1 respectively.

As stated in this question, glucose is an organic molecule made up of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen in the 1:2:1 proportion, hence, it is a CARBOHYDRATE. Since glucose possess one sugar component, it is classified as a MONOSACCHARIDE with a chemical formula C6H12O6.

A certain area received a large amount of rain and some of it remained on top of the soil. What happened to the rest of this wat
ValentinkaMS [17]

In the large rainfall is some water remains in the top of the soil the rest of this water is seeped into the ground.

Explanation:

 • Mainly the absorption of water by the ground depends upon the nature and the fertility of the soil.
 • When the ground receives the water it mainly accounts for the absorption and then there will be a runoff. The absorption helps to raise the level of groundwater for future usage.
 • The amount of water that can get into the soil mainly depends upon the permeability of the soil surface. The water which can't infiltrate in the soil runs off into the water bodies.
 • The water is an essential requirement for survival and the existence of biological organisms.

The release of an inorganic phosphate from the myosin molecule directly results in ________
zhuklara [117]

Answer:

power stroke

Explanation:

 • The process of muscle contraction requires several steps.
 • The most famous theory on how the contraction and relaxation of muscles take place is the sliding filament theory.
 • However, this theory has been refined and one important addition to it is the mechanism by which myosin can pull actin and cause shortening of the sarcomere.
 • For the movement of myosin, it binds and releases actin and forms cross bridges.
 • Myosin is subdivided into two regions - S1 and S2. The contraction of the S1 region is what constitutes the power stroke.
 • An important requirement of the power stroke is the hydrolysis of ATP to release an inorganic phosphate which provides energy for the process.
