A nutrient or nutrient is a chemical from outside the cell and it needs to perform its vital functions. It is taken by the cell and transformed into a cellular constituent through a metabolic process of biosynthesis called anabolism, or it is degraded to obtain other molecules and energy and nutrients. Nutrients are any chemical element or compound necessary for the metabolism of a being. alive. That is, nutrients are some of the substances contained in food that actively participate in metabolic reactions to maintain all the functions of the body.

Reptile [31]

Answer:

the grass is the producer, the snake is the secondary consumer, and the eagle (i think thats what the bird is) is the tertiary consumer

Explanation:

the grass is being produced so that one is obvious

the snake is the secondary consumer because it eats the bunny and the bunny consumes the grass. So the secondary has to be the snake

the eagle is the tertiary consumer because it eats the snake and like i stated before the bunny consumes the grass, then the bunny gets consumed by the snake, but the the snake gets consumed by the eagle.

The difference between an aldose sugar and a ketose sugar is ________. Group of answer choices the ring form and the linear chai
zhuklara [117]

Answer: position of the carbonyl carbon

Explanation:

In the linear structure of sugars having an aldehyde group, are called aldoses, and sugars having a keto group are called ketoses.

Like adehydes H-C=O the carbonyl carbon is the first/last in the chain it is bounded to Hydrogen, double bounded to oxygen and a single bond to the chain. An aldose linear sugar like D-glucose have the carbonyl carbon as it first carbon.

But ketones R-COR the carbonyl carbon is in between the chain, it is bounded to two carbons on both sides. Like D-fructose the keto carbon is the second carbon.

In a open ring structure the 1st carbon, adehyde group is condensed with the hydroxy group (OH) of the 5th carbon forming a ring. The first carbon is now bound to the chain, Hydrogen, OH and oxygen which forms the ring.

In the keto open ring structure of D-fructose, the second carbon(keto group) is condensed with the OH of the 5th carbon

In an eukaryotic cell, transcription and translation occur ________________________(time and place). In a prokaryotic cell, tran
notka56 [123]

Answer:

Separately in Nucleus and cytoplasm,

Simultaneously in the cytoplasm

Explanation:

In eukaryotes transcription and translation occurs separately in the nucleus and cytoplasm respectively. Transcription occurs inside the membrane bound nucleus and the mRNA transcript is transported to the cytoplasm for translation.

In prokaryotes, because prokaryotic cells lack a membrane bound nucleus, transcription and translation occurs simultaneouslyin the cytoplasm. This means that translation of mRNA begins even while the transcription of the transcript is still active.

A limitation of retrovirus-mediated gene transfer is that ________.
brilliants [131]

The answer is Retroviruses integrate DNA randomly in the genome. While retroviruses integrate their DNA permanently in their host genome, hence a good tool for gene therapy, its risk of inserting DNA at an unintended location on target genome can cause insertional mutagenesis. This mutation can cause activation of oncogenes hence lead to tumor growth.
