Jenny has 40 marbles and Keiko has 20. When Jenny gives Keiko 5 of her marbles, now Jenny has 35 marbles and Keiko has 25. Jenny had twice as many marbles at first with 40 and after giving 5 to Keiko, Jenny has 10 more then Keiko. So answer is 40!

Answer:

Jenny has to start with 30 marbles.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let Keiko has the number of marbles = x

"Jenny starts the game with twice as many marbles as Keiko".

So Jenny will have the marbles = 2x

"Jenny gives 5 marbles to Keiko but she still has 10 more than Keiko".

2x - 5 = x + 10

2x - x = 10 + 5

x = 15

So Jenny have to start with 2x = 2×15 = 30 marbles

In general, the dependent variable will be by itself on the left side of the equation.  Its value depends upon that of the independent variable embedded in some expression on the right side.

Answer:

a) p = 6x - 5

b) x = 6

Bumek [7]

Hey there! :)

Answer:

29/28.

Step-by-step explanation:

Starting with:

\frac{1}{4} + \frac{2}{7} + \frac{1}{2} =

Begin by finding a common denominator. A number that contains all of the denominators as a factor would be 28. Change each fraction to contain a denominator of 28:

\frac{7}{28} + \frac{8}{28} + \frac{14}{28} =

Add the fractions:

\frac{7}{28} + \frac{8}{28} + \frac{14}{28} = \frac{29}{28}

Therefore, the fractions sum up to 29/28.
