Plessy v. Ferguson

In this case, Plessy, an African American refused to give up his seat in a segregated bus, which was brought to court and convinced the courts to stop racial segregation in public facilities.

Brown v. Board of Education

This case addressed segregation in public schools, where blacks and whites were not treated fairly, which violated the fourteenth amendment of the United States.

Precedent Established: Separate But Equal. This meant that segregation was still a present issue and law to be enforced in the U.S., but no matter what race, every American citizen was to be granted certain rights shared among each other.

Landmark Cases: Landmark Cases are referred to as Landmark Cases because they were influential cases with rulings that shaped a lot of how the U.S. treats it's biggest issues, free's people from oppression and segregation, including the creation of Precedents.

Answer:

C). Can enforce James's pledge on the grounds of promissory estoppel based on a charitable subscription.

Explanation:

A charitable subscription is demonstrated as a promise in which a party promises to make a donation to an educational, charitable, or religious institution.

As per the question, Helping Hands Inc. possesses the ability to 'enforce James's pledge on the grounds of promissory estoppel based on a charitable description'. Conventionally, such promises were not enforceable as they are not backed by appropriate legal consideration. But, the modern view allows adding exceptions in the general rule through application of the doctrine of promissory estoppel. Thus, Helping Hands is now allowed to enforce its promise on the basis of promissory estoppel. Hence, option C is the correct answer.

When people do not own the resources they use, they tend to do what?
Tasya [4]

When people do not own the resources they use, they can use a lease agreement.

This type of contract establishes a legal relationship between the leesee (the user of the resource) and the lessor (the owner) for the use of a specific asset. Usually a rental payment is establihed in return for using the underlying resource. Anyway, the two parties can reach the agreements they consider necessary to bind properly their relationship. Properties, building, vehicles and also industrial property or equipment for a company can be leased.
