Answer:

The unit cell's edge length is 5.06\times 10^{-8} m

Explanation:

Number of atom in BCC unit cell = Z = 2

Density of barium metal= 3.51g/cm^3

Edge length of cubic unit cell= a  = ?

Atomic mass of Ba(M) = 137.33 g/mol

Formula used :

\rho=\frac{Z\times M}{N_{A}\times a^{3}}

where,

= density

Z = number of atom in unit cell

M = atomic mass

(N_{A}) = Avogadro's number

a = edge length of unit cell

On substituting all the given values , we will get the value of 'a'.

3.51 g/cm3=\frac{2\times 137.33g/mol}{6.022\times 10^{23} mol^{-1}\times (a)^{3}}

a = 5.06\times 10^{-8} m

The unit cell's edge length is 5.06\times 10^{-8} m

2. How could one change in a DNA nucleotide alter the formation of the translated protein
vichka [17]

Answer AND Explanation:

Proteins are formed from the translation of mRNA  to amino acid. Each set of 3 nucleotides make up a codon that codes for a specific amino acid. Frameshift mutations can also impact the formation of the protein.  A change in a nucleotide does not always change the amino acid or protein because some amino acids have more than one set of 3 nucleotides that code for them. Valine, for example, is coded for by GUU, GUC, GUA and GUG. A change in the last nucleotide wouldn't affect the amino acid formed. However,GAG codes for glutamic acid.

If the amount of DNA in a gamete of an organism is n, is the amount of DNA in the body cells of that organism equal to 1/2 n, n,
ira [324]
 2n because when 2 gametes of n amount of DNA fertilise together they make an organism that is similar to its parents and have the total amount of DNA as 2n, just like parents.
