You have to do 5000 divided by 6. You will get 833 (rounded). But 833 times 6 = 4,998. You cant do an 1/3 delivery. So round up to 1 more to get 834.

The answer is 1/5, or 0.2, because if you're always putting the slip back in, then there will always by 5 slips to choose from, therefore making the probability 1 out of 5. I hope this helps!

Maxi is trying to stack books on a shelf that is 18 inches tall. If the books are each 4/5 inch thick, how many can she stack?
kari74 [83]
I believe it should be 22½ or 22 books

You would need to divide 18 and ⅘

18 ÷ ⅘ = 22½

I hope this helps, even though I’m not totally sure :)

What is the slope of the line that passes through (3, −7) and (−1, 1)? (1 point)
ELEN [110]

Answer:

The slope of the line is -2

Step-by-step explanation:

<em>The rule of the slope of a line is</em>:

m=\frac{y_{2}-y_{1}}{x_{2}-x_{1}}  , where

(x_{1},y_{1}) and (x_{2},y_{2}) are two points on the line

<em>Let us find the slope using the rule above</em>

∵ The line passes through points (3, -7) and (-1 , 1)

∴ x_{1} = 3 and  x_{2} = -1

∴ y_{1} = -7 and  y_{2} = 1

<em>Substitute these values in the rule above to find m</em>

∴ m=\frac{1--7}{-1-3}=\frac{1+7}{-4}=\frac{8}{-4}=-2

∴ The slope of the line that passes through the given points is -2
