I’m going to change to decimals just because it’s easier for me but I’ll change it back.

The formula for area of a circle is pi times radius squared.

Pi is 3.14
Radius is 1.25 (3.5 divided by 2)
And square the radius which is 1.25 times 1.25 which is 6.25

Next multiply 6.25 by 3.14

The area of a full circle would be 19.625, however the window is a semicircle. So divide 19.625 by 2 which is 9.8125 and add a feet squared afterwards.

To convert back to fractions, round the decimal to the nearest hundredth, 9.81 and put it over 100

(9 81/100 ft squared is your full answer)

Solve with interval notation Solve: 5 | x − 2 | + 4 > 8
Gnesinka [82]

Answer:

x<6/5, x>14/5

Step-by-step explanation:

Steps

$5\left|x-2\right|+4>8$

$\mathrm{Subtract\:}4\mathrm{\:from\:both\:sides}$

$5\left|x-2\right|+4-4>8-4$

$\mathrm{Simplify}$

$5\left|x-2\right|>4$

$\mathrm{Divide\:both\:sides\:by\:}5$

$\frac{5\left|x-2\right|}{5}>\frac{4}{5}$

$\mathrm{Simplify}$

$\left|x-2\right|>\frac{4}{5}$

$\mathrm{Apply\:absolute\:rule}:\quad\mathrm{If}\:|u|\:>\:a,\:a>0\:\mathrm{then}\:u\:<\:-a\:\quad\mathrm{or}\quad\:u\:>\:a$

$x-2<-\frac{4}{5}\quad\mathrm{or}\quad\:x-2>\frac{4}{5}$

Show Steps

$x-2<-\frac{4}{5}\quad:\quad x<\frac{6}{5}$

Show Steps

$x-2>\frac{4}{5}\quad:\quad x>\frac{14}{5}$

$\mathrm{Combine\:the\:intervals}$

$x<\frac{6}{5}\quad\mathrm{or}\quad\:x>\frac{14}{5}$

How to solve a system of three equations with substitution
zloy xaker [14]

Answer:

Usually there are the variables x y z but it doesn't matter what they are.

Step-by-step explanation:

First choose your first variable to solve. Find x by putting all the numbers and variables to one side.

once you found x substitute the answer for x in all the equations. Next find y and substitute your answer in all the equations again.

Once you have solved 2 variables then you are able to solve z.

Two angles of a triangle have the same measure and the third one is 18 degrees greater than the measure of each of the other two
kvv77 [185]

Answer:

72°

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the 2 equal angles be x then the third angle is x + 18

The sum of the 3 angles in a triangle = 180°, thus

x + x + x + 18 = 180, that is

3x + 18 = 180 ( subtract 18 from both sides )

3x = 162 ( divide both sides by 3 )

x = 54

Hence

the largest angle = x + 18 = 54 + 18 = 72°
