1. Natasha invests £250 in a building society account. At the end of the year her account is

credited with 2% interest. How much interest had her £250 earned in the year?

Solution: Interest = 2% of £250

= 2/100 x £250

 answer       = £5

2. Alan invests £140 in an account that pays r% interest. After the first year he receives £4.20 interest. What is the value of r, the rate of interest?

r/100 x £140 = £4.20

        r = 100 x 4.20 / 140

             = 420/140

           = 3%

So the interest rate is 3%

Answer:

D.

Step-by-step explanation:

So the question is asking which set of inequalities and given point represent the graph. The point it gives is (-3,1) on the graph. That already narrows your choices down to B and D. Now, the easiest way to see the answer is look at the y axis. In the equation y=mx+b, b is the value on the y axis. We see on the y axis that the equations pass through positive 1 and 2. D adds 1 and 2 the equations, so it would produce that graph.

A. Transform F using the rule (x, y) → (-x, y) (1 pt.)
serg [7]

Answer:

A: (-3,4) (-3,6) (-5,6) (-7,4)

B: The transformation would be described as a reflection over the y axis

C:  The transformation does result in a congruent figure because the shape doesn't change in size or shape and in length or width

Step-by-step explanation:

So our plots from the figure are: (3,4)  (3,6)  (5,6)  (7,4)

So using the rule (x, y) → (-x, y) are new points would be:

(-3,4)

(-3,6)

(-5,6)

(-7,4)

This rule (x, y) → (-x, y) is used for the type of transformation that is a reflection but over the y axis.
