Biology

According to Esaias, the changes aren’t just dramatic, they’re also kind of scary. The fertility of most flowering plants, including nearly all fruits and vegetables, depends on animal-mediated pollination. As the pollinators move from flower to flower for nectar--a high-energy, sugary enticement—the plants dust them with pollen, which the animals transfer from flower to flower.

What do areas of high albedo have in common?
juin [17]
Albedo (al-bee-doh) is a measure of how much light that hits a surface is reflected without being absorbed. Something that appears white reflects most of the light that hits it and has a high albedo, while something that looks dark absorbs most of the light that hits it, indicating a low albedo.

Imagine an island archipelago where all of the islands are founded by individuals that are heterozygous at a particular locus. I
jarptica [38.1K]

Answer:

a) Some island populations will have fixed one allele, and other populations will have fixed the other allele.

Explanation:

The founder population for each island is heterozygous for the locus. The absence of any migration and mutation would result in no gene flow or the introduction of new alleles of the locus. Over several generations, one or the other allele will be fixed in the populations depending on the adaptive features imparted by each under the different conditions present on these different islands. Genetic drift may also work on these small founder populations to randomly fix one or the other allele.
