As the writer forms an idea of what he wants to write, he should begin to narrow his vision and focus on a specific topic and tackle what that topic entails.
Prewriting often called is the germinal phase of the writing process followed by drafting, revising and editing. The stage begins with a broad focus where the author seeks to attain the necessary motivation and sources for his work and concludes with the narrowing of thoughts and selecting a specific topic for the research. It involves the organizing of thoughts and ideas in a particular direction in order to produce a significant piece of work. <em>In this stage, the author narrows his vision and entails his focus on a specified topic and begin questioning and outlining the key points to be included in the work.</em>
