You add -3x to both sides of the equation:
-3x+3x-y=8-3x you get -y = 8-3x
and then you multiply both sides by -1 and you get y = 3x-8

A cone has a diameter of 18 in. and a height of 14 in.
Bond [772]
Cone's volume is V =  \frac{1}{3}Sh
where    S - surface area,  h - height
Surface area =  \pi r^2

r = 18/2=9
h= 14
π = 3.14
V= \frac{1}{3}  \pi r^2h= \frac{1}{3} *3.14*9^2*14= \frac{1}{3} *3.14*81*14=27*14*3.14[/tex]
V = 1186.92 in.^3
