Hello!

It seems like the building, shadow, and distance between the top of the building to the top of the shadow makes a triangle. It seems as if the shadow and building are two legs, and the tip distance is the hypotenuse.

With this problem we will use the Pythagorean Theorem, where a squared plus b squared equals c squared.

When our hypotenuse represents c, we will subtract rather than add as we already know the length of c. We need to find the length of the shadow, or leg.

We will square the numbers and subtract. Then we will find the square root of our result, giving us our answer.

1444-1225=219
The square root of 219 is about 14.8.

Just to check, let’s plug our a value into the Pythagorean theorem.

219.04+1225= 1444.04
The square root of 1444.04 is about 38, which is the length of our hypotenuse.

The length of the shadow was 14.8 meters long.

I hope this helps!

Is the statement "Two matrices are row equivalent if they have the same number of rows" true or false? Explain. A. True, because
vlabodo [156]

Answer: The answer is (C).

Step-by-step explanation: The given statement is - "Two matrices are row equivalent if they have the same number of rows". We are to explain whether the statement is true or false.

What are row equivalent matrices? The answer to this question is -

Two matrices are said to be row equivalent if one of the matrices can be obtained from the other by applying a number of elementary row operations. Or, we can say two matrices of same order are row equivalent if they have same row space.

Thus, the correct option is (C).

The cost to manufacture a product is proportional to the quantity produced, with a cost of $35000 dollars per day when 700 items
ollegr [7]

Solution :

$T_1$ = k.n (cost proportional to quantity)

35000 = k . 700

k = $\frac{35000}{700}$

  = 50

So $T_1$ = 50 n

Now $T_2=Pn^2$     (cost proportional to square of n)

$3430= P(700)^2$

3430 = 490000 P

$P = \frac{3430}{490000}$

$P = \frac{7}{1000}$

$T_2=\frac{7}{1000}n^2$

Now, $T_3= 7000$   (fixed)

Therefore,

Total, $T=T_1+T_2+T_3$

$T=50n+\frac{7}{1000}n^2+7000$

$T=0.007n^2+50n+7000$
