What is: 2/3 X 5/6 X 14 = ___.

Mathematics

Lets start with 2/3 × 5/6 so first we multiply the numerator with the numerator and then the denominator with the denominator: 2×5 and 3×6
so after we multiply the numerators we get 10 and after multiplying the denominators we get 18
10/18 is our new fraction
next we have 10/18 × 14 so we multiply 14 with the numerator and we get our new numerator of 140
and our new fraction is 140/18 which also means 140 ÷ 18
now 18 can go into 140 only 7 times as a whole but then afterwards there is a remainder of 14
so 140/18 = 7 14/18 but 14/18 can be simplified since the have a GCF of 2
so you divide the numerator and denominator by 2 and get 7/9
7 7/9 is your answer i hope this helps

A ping pong ball is drawn at random from an urn consisting of balls numbered 2 through 10. A player wins 1 dollar if the number
choli [55]

Answer:

The expected value is defined as:

EV = ∑xₙ*pₙ

Where xₙ represents the n-th event, and pₙ is the probability of that event.

Now, the events are:

The possible outcomes are: {2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10} 9 in total.

Winning $1, when the number is odd. The outcomes in this case are: {3. 5. 7. 9}

4 out of 9, then the probability is p = 4/9.

Lossing $1 when the number is even. The outcomes in this case are {2, 4, 6, 8, 10}

5 out of 9, the probability is p = 5/9.

Then the expected value is:

EV = (4/9)*$1 - (5/9)*$1 = (-1/9)*$1  = -$0.11...

timurjin [86]
This is the concept of inequalities:
maximum capacity for the theater=425
Number of people in the theater=50
thus the inequality for the that will represent the number p of additional people who can be seated will be:
50+p≤425
hence:
p≤(425-50)
p≤375
