The Boston Tea Party that led to other riots and protests, was an important example of a riot and protest against the Tea Act, an act that was passed upon the colonies that forced them to buy only British tea. British taxes also led to boycotts of imported British goods in response to the various acts that the British passed onto the colonies. These riots, boycotts, and protests, fueled much of the American Revolution and the British taxes that had led to these actions were one of the biggest causes of the American Revolution
