Drama+yearbook=64
drama=10 more than yearbook
drama=10+yearbook

the equations are
x+y=64
x=10+y

solve
subsitue 10+y for x
10+y+y=64
10+2y=64
minus 10 both sides
2y=54
divide both sides by 2
y=27

subsitute back
x=10+y
x=10+27
x=37

37 people in yearbook club
27 in drama club

A pyramid has a base area of 150 in^2 and a hight of 75 in what is the volume of the pyramid
Dovator [93]

Answer:

The volume of a pyramid is found by multiplying the length and width of the base by the height and then dividing by three.

You are given the area of the base, which is the length multiplied by the width, so now multiply that by the height and then divide by 3:

Volume = 150 * 75 = 11,250 / 3 = 3,750 cubic in.

One car traveled 248 and drove 5 mph slower than a second car which drove 268m / (les) . the cars were traveling for the same ,
Katyanochek1 [597]

Answer:

The first car is traveling at a speed of

s1=62 mi/hr.

The second car is traveling at a speed of s2=67 mi/hr.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let t be the amount of time the cars are traveling

s1=248/t and s2=268/t

We are told:

s1=s2-5

That is

248/t=268/t-5

⇒248=268- 5t

⇒5t=20

⇒t=4

s1=248/4=62

s2=268/4=67

In ΔDEF, \overline{DF} DF is extended through point F to point G, \text{m}\angle FDE = (2x+4)^{\circ}m∠FDE=(2x+4) ∘ , \text{m}\a
Sedaia [141]

Answer:

18°

Step-by-step explanation:

See the diagram attached:

In a triangle, the sum of interior angles is equal to the exterior angle.

According the diagram, the sum of interior angles is given as:

Sum of interior = <FDE+<DEF

Given

<FDE = 2x+4

<DEF = 3x+5

Sum of interior = 2x+4+3x+5

Sum of interior = 5x+9

Exterior angle = <EFG = 7x-5

Equate the interior to the exterior and calculate the value of x:

5x+9 = 7x-5

Collect like terms

5x-7x = -5-9

-2x = -14

x = -14/-2

x = 7

Next is to get <FDE:

<FDE = 2x+4

<FDE = 2(7)+4

<FDE = 14+4

<FDE = 18°

Hence the measure of <FDE is 18°
