Let x be the number.
x-x²=2/9, so 9x-9x²=2 or 9x²-9x+2=0=(3x-2)(3x-1). Therefore x=2/3 or 1/3.
Check: 2/3-4/9=6/9-4/9=2/9 and 1/3-1/9=3/9-1/9=2/9.

Solve for x: -2x+14=20
Tatiana [17]

Answer:

-3

Step-by-step explanation:

First, subtract 14 from 20. 20-14=6. And then divide -2 on each side. You then have to do 6/-2, when a postive number divides a negative, you change the sign. So you would get x=-3

How do you get figure 1 to 2?
Hatshy [7]
Do this on paper, please.
First, rotate the larger rectangle about the origin so that it ends up being a vertically-oriented rectangle in the fourth quadrant (next to the smaller rectangle).  What would you then have to do to this large, vertical rectangle so that it has the same size and shape as does the small vertical triangle?

Given the formula for the gas law: pv = nrt. katie tried to solve for the v variable in order to solve a problem. she rearranged
ZanzabumX [31]

Answer:

Katie made a mistake.   P = (nRT)/P is the correct equation, not V = PnRT

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation for the ideal gas law is PV = nRT, where P is pressure, V is volume, n is the moles of gas, R is the gas constant, and T is the temperature, in Kelvin.

Solving for V:

PV = nRT

V = (nRT)/P

Katie did not solve the equation corretly.  To move V from the left to the right side of the equation, she needed to divide both sides by P:

PV = nRT

PV/V = (nRT)/P

P = (nRT)/P is the correct equation
