Let's assume

number of small notebooks =x

number of large notebooks =y

we are given

total number of notebooks =31

so, we get

x+y=31

now, we can solve for y

y=31-x

we have

Small notebooks cost $3.50 and large notebooks cost $5.00

she has $134 to spend

so, we get

3.50x+5y=134

now, we can plug y

3.50x+5(31-x)=134

3.50x+5*31-5x=134

-1.5x+155=134

-1.5x+155-155=134-155

x=14

now, we can find y

y=31-14

y=17

so,

number of small notebooks is 14

number of large notebooks is 17.............Answer

Dilate the the triangle, scale factor = 3 (positive 3, ignore the
HACTEHA [7]

Answer:

The rule of dilation is P'(x,y) = 3\cdot P(x,y).

The vertices of the dilated triangle are A'(x,y) = (-21, -18), B'(x,y) = (-15,-10) and C'(x,y) = (-3,-15), respectively.

Step-by-step explanation:

From Linear Algebra, we define the dilation by the following definition:

P'(x,y) = O(x,y) + k\cdot[P(x,y)-O(x,y)] (1)

Where:

O(x,y) - Center of dilation, dimensionless.

k - Scale factor, dimensionless.

P(x,y) - Original point, dimensionless.

P'(x,y) - Dilated point, dimensionless.

If we know that O(x,y) = (0,0), k = 3, A(x,y) = (-7,-6), B(x,y) = (-5,-2) and C(x,y) =(-1,-5), then dilated points of triangle ABC are, respectively:

A'(x,y) = O(x,y) + k\cdot [A(x,y)-O(x,y)] (2)

A'(x,y) = (0,0) + 3\cdot [(-7,-6)-(0,0)]

A'(x,y) = (-21, -18)

B'(x,y) = O(x,y) + k\cdot [B(x,y)-O(x,y)] (3)

B'(x,y) = (0,0) + 3\cdot [(-5,-2)-(0,0)]

B'(x,y) = (-15,-10)

C'(x,y) = O(x,y) + k\cdot [C(x,y)-O(x,y)] (4)

C'(x,y) = (0,0) +3\cdot [(-1,-5)-(0,0)]

C'(x,y) = (-3,-15)

The rule of dilation is:

P'(x,y) = 3\cdot P(x,y) (5)

The vertices of the dilated triangle are A'(x,y) = (-21, -18), B'(x,y) = (-15,-10) and C'(x,y) = (-3,-15), respectively.

D, as that symbol means parallel

A is untrue as they are on the same plane
B is untrue as that symbol means perpendicular
E is untrue as perpendicular means the two lines intersect and form 90 degree angles
F is untrue as parallel lines never intersect

Describe the difference between a bar graph and a circle graph.
kirill [66]

Answer:

Unlike most circle graphs, bar graphs compare exact amounts. Circle graphs are used when dealing with percentages, and the percentages of the pieces add up to 100 percent. In a bar graph, however, a scale is used to show the exact amount of each category. ... The bar graph shows the same results but in a different format.

Mr and mrs Gomez are buying carpet for their square shaped bedroom which measures 7 yd along each wall the carpet is $21 per squ
Andreas93 [3]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation: The area of the bedroom is

A=7yd^2

The total cost is the sum of the price rates times this area.

C=A•($21+$5)/yd^2

where C is total cost.

C=7yd^2•($21+$5)/yd^2

C=$182
