So if you have x/y=z then you multiply both sides by y then you get
(xy)/y=zy
x(y/y)=zy
x(1)=zy
x=zy and cancel the fraction so

f/22.3=6.6
multiply both sides by 22.3 to get rid of fraction
f=147.18

Kobotan [32]

Answer:

The dimension of the box is 18.66 in by 2.66 in by 1.17 in.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that, The cardboard is 21 in. long and 5 in. wide.

Assume,x be the length of the each sides of the square .

Then the length of the box is = (21-2x) in.

The breadth of the box is =(5-2x) in.

The height of the box is  = length of side of the square

                                         = x in.

The volume of the box = length × wide × height

                                      =(21-2x)(5-2x)x

                                      =(105-52x+4x²)x

                                      =(105 x-52x^2+4x^3)

Let

V=105 x-52x^2+4x^3

Differentiating with respect to x

V'=105-104x+12x^2

Again differentiating with respect to x

V''=-104+24x

To find the dimension of the box, we set V'=0

105-104x+12x^2=0

Applying the quadratic formula x=\frac{-b\pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a} , here a=12, b= -104 and c =105

\Rightarrow x=\frac{-(-104)\pm\sqrt{(-104)^2-4.12.105}}{2.12}

      =\frac{104\pm 76}{24}

      =7.5, 1.17

For x= 7.5 , the wide of the box will be negative.

∴x=1.17 in.

V''_{x=1.17}=-104+(24\times 1.17)

Since at x= 1.17, V''<0 , therefore at x=1.17 in. the volume of the given box will be maximum.

The length of the box is = [21-(1.17×2)]=18.66 in.

The wide of the box is = [5-(1.17×2)]=2.66 in.

The height of the box is = 1.17 in.

The dimension of the box is 18.66 in by 2.66 in by 1.17 in.

help me please look at picture I sent to know ..! btw show work answer all please ignore the number 5 up top on number 11
rosijanka [135]

Answer:

11) 140/8 = 17.5

12) 38/3 = 12.667

13) 114/9 = 12.667

14) 7/2 = 3.5

15) 14/9 = 1.556

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve each problem you need to multiply the numerator by the whole number:

11) 7*20 = 140

12) 2*19 = 38

13) 6*19 = 114

14) 1*7 = 7

15) 7*2 = 14

Next, you put these numbers back into their corresponding numerators and divide:

11) 140/8 = 17.5     (You can simplify this fraction to 70/4 if needed)

12) 38/3 = 12.667  (This answer is rounded to the thousandths place)

13) 114/9 = 12.667  (This answer is rounded thousandsths place)

14) 7/2 = 3.5

15) 14/9 = 1.556       (This answer is rounded thousandths place)

**These are the improper fractions written as mixed ones** :

11) 17 1/2

12) 12 2/3

13) 12 2/3

14) 3 1/2

15) 1 5/9

I hope this helps!

5xy4 25x2y 5x2y2 What is the greatest common factor (GCF) of the monomials shown above?
FinnZ [79.3K]

Answer:

5xy

Step-by-step explanation:

I'm going out on a limb and assuming exponents.

5xy^{2} \\25x^{2}y \\5x^{2} y^{2}

We can note that 5 is a common factor for the coefficients. All the terms share at least one x. All the terms share all least one y. So the GCF of these monomials is 5xy.

If m∠ TUW = (5x + 3)°, m∠WUV=(10x-5)°, and m∠TUV=(17X-16)°, find each measure
cricket20 [7]

Answer: m∠ TUW =  38°

m∠WUV =  12°

m∠TUV =  103°

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: m∠ TUW = (5x + 3)°, m∠WUV=(10x-5)°, and m∠TUV=(17x-16)°

Since, m∠TUV = m∠ TUW  +  m∠WUV

So, 17X-16 = (5x + 3) + (10x-5)

⇒ 17X-16 = 5x + 3 + 10x-5   [open parenthesis]

⇒  17X-16 =5x +  10x +3 -5   [combine like trems]

⇒  17X-16 =15x -2

⇒   17X -15x = -2+16     [subtract 15x and add 16 on both sides]

⇒   2x = 14

⇒  x= 7               [divide both sides by 2]

Now, m∠ TUW = (5(7) + 3)°=  38°

m∠WUV=(10(7)-5)° =  12°

m∠TUV=(17(7)-16)° =  103°

Hence,  m∠ TUW =  38°

m∠WUV =  12°

m∠TUV =  103°
