How do you graph a circle x^2 + y^2=25 and the line is given y=2

\bf \textit{equation of a circle}\\\\
(x-{{ h}})^2+(y-{{ k}})^2={{ r}}^2
\qquad
\begin{array}{lllll}
center\ (&{{ h}},&{{ k}})\qquad
radius=&{{ r}}
\end{array}\\\\
-------------------------------\\\\
x^2+y^2=25\implies (x-0)^2+(y-0)^2=5^2

so notice above, the circle is centered at h,k or 0,0, the origin, and has a ratio of 5.

and y = 2, is just a horizontal line, check the picture below.

Mr. Sawyer drove his car from his home to New York at the rate of 45 mph and returned over the same road at the rate of 40 mph.
AveGali [126]

Answer: Time taken by him in going = 8 hours

Time taken by him in returning =  9 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the total distance from home to New York is x miles,

\text{ Since, Time} = \frac{\text{Distance}}{\text{Speed}}

Also, he drove his car from his home to New York at the rate of 45 mph,

⇒ \text{ Time taken by him in going } = \frac{x}{45}\text{ hours}

And, returned over the same road at the rate of 40 mph.

⇒  \text{ Time taken by him in returning } = \frac{x}{40}\text{ hours}

According to the question,

Time taken by him in returning - Time taken by him in going = 30 minutes = 1/2 hours,    ( 1 hours = 60 minutes )

⇒ \frac{x}{40}-\frac{x}{45}=\frac{1}{2}

⇒ \frac{9x}{360}-\frac{8x}{360}=\frac{1}{2}

⇒ \frac{x}{360} = \farc{1}{2}

⇒ 2x=720

⇒ x=360\text{ miles}

Hence, the total distance from home to New York = x miles = 360 miles

⇒ \text{ Time taken by him in going } = \frac{x}{45}\text{ hours}

=\frac{360}{45}=8\text{ hours}

⇒  \text{ Time taken by him in returning } = \frac{x}{40}\text{ hours}

=\frac{360}{40}=9\text{ hours}

How many cylindrical can of bottles 12 cm high and with 6 cm diameter could be filled from a tank containing 125 liters of deter
Orlov [11]

Answer:

368 cans.

Step-by-step explanation:

Volume of 1 can = π r^2 h.

Here h (height) = 12 and r (radius) = 1/2 * 6 = 3 cm.

So V =  π * 3^2 * 12

= 108π cm^3.

The tank hold 125 liters

=  125,000 cm^3, so:

Number of cans that could be filled = 125000/ 108 π

= 368.4.

How many solutions do you think the equation -10x+3=5x-27 has? Explain. Then, find the solution(s).
deff fn [24]
This will only have one solution because it does not deal with a quadratic. Then to isolate x you need to get the similar terms on different sides by subtracting or adding, Then divide both sides by the number next to x (coefficient).
