The mean score is obtain by (sum of scores) ÷ (how many scores there are)

Class A:

Sum of scores = 60 + 68 + 70 + 75 + 84 + 86 + 90 + 91 + 92 + 94 + 94 + 96 + 100 + 100 = 1200

There are 14 scores in total

Mean scores of class A = 1200÷14 = 85.7
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sum of scores of class B = 60 + 60 + 70 + 71 + 73 + 73 + 75 + 76 + 77 + 84 + 85 + 86 + 91 + 92 = 1073

Number of scores of class B = 14
Mean scores of class B = 1073÷14 = 76.6
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Class A has the highest mean score

SM=3x−4, and RN=9x−20. Find the value of x
Rudik [331]

Answer:

Option (A).

Step-by-step explanation:

Given question is incomplete; find the complete question with the attachment.

In the triangle NRL,

Points P, S and M are the midpoints of the sides NR, RL and LN respectively.

Sides SM = (3x - 4), NR = (9x - 20)

By the theorem of midpoints in a triangle,

SM = \frac{1}{2}\text{NR}

(3x - 4) = \frac{1}{2}(9x-20)

6x - 8 = 9x - 20

9x - 6x = 20 - 8

3x = 12

x = 4

Therefore, Option (A) will be the answer.

$52 sweater on sale for $31.20 find the percent of discount or markup
shtirl [24]
A=pw-31.20=52p- which equals 0.6 or 60% but then you subtract that from 100% to get 40% discount

Suppose any one round of a gambling game pays 3 to 1 and the odds are 4 to 1 against you. Suppose you will play for 100 rounds a
andriy [413]

Answer:

Check the explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

The odds are 4 to 1 against, so we can estimate the probability of success (p) as

\frac{p}{q}=\frac{p}{1-p}=\frac{1}{4}\\\\4p=1-p\\\\5p=1\\\\p=0.2

The expected pay for every success is 3 to 1, so we lose $1 for every lose and we gain $3 for every win.

The number of winnings in the 100 rounds to be even can be calculated as:

W+L=100\\\\L=100-W\\\\\\Payoff=0=3*W-1*L=3W-1*(100-W)=3W+W-100\\\\0=4W-100\\\\W=25

We have to win at least 25 rounds to have a positive payoff.

As the number of rounds is big, we will approximate the binomial distribution to a normal distribution with parameters:

\mu=np=100*0.2=20\\\\\ \sigma=\sqrt{npq}=\sqrt{100*0.2*0.8}=4

The z-value for x=25 is

z=\frac{X-\mu}{\sigma}=\frac{25-20}{4}=1.25

The probability of z>1.25 is

P(X>25)=P(z>1.25)=0.10565

There is a 10.5% chance of having a positive payoff.

NOTE: if we do all the calculations for the binomial distribution, the chances of having a net payoff are 13.1%.

Which number line best represents the solution to the inequality 3.3w - 9 > -22.2?
mafiozo [28]

Answer:

The answer is G

Step-by-step explanation:

Because it states in the equation 3.3w-9 > -22.2

and in negatives place, the least number, example:-4 is greater than a bigger number (-22.2) so if you look at G, -9 and to the right would make sense since the equation is that 3.3w-9 is greater than -22.2. I hope this helps!!
