As I said before, the major cause of war in the 1800s was the independence attempts from the colonies and the battle for the rights over them. Their technology wasn't advanced even though the conquerors had thousands of years of war experience and knowledge. So, the war was more physical, and its impact was not so damaging. However, in the 1900s with the amazing military potential, the world big powers gathered, destruction was unleashed in Europe. Also, technology permitted them to create destruction and damage without precedents. War in the 1900s also included new tactics to guarantee the major amount of success in a fight and because the leaders looked for destruction and domination instead of just a fight over territory.
