Remark.

I'm going to put up two graphs because I'm a little uncertain what f(x) is. Do you mean f(x) = 2^(x - 1) or do you mean f(x) = (2^x) - 1.

The first graph on your left is f(x) = 2^(x - 1). Notice that the solution to the 2 equations is not very nice. It would be hard to show by any method but brute force.

The second graph on your right is f(x) = 2^x - 1. It has a much better solution point. Both graphs show the line y = -x + 5 and the intersect point is plainly marked for both. The graphs were done on Desmos.

You did not say that you needed to see a solution for where they meet. If you tell me that you do need the algebra for the meeting point, let me know with a comment.
