Simple,

I learned this from my teacher...

the two smallest sides, when added together have to equal more than the largest side...

1.)4.2+5.6=9.8      9.8 vs. 7(Does create a triangle)

2.)10+24=34          34 vs. 26(Does create a triangle)

3.)43.5+54=97.5     97.5 vs. 72.5 (Does create a triangle)

4.)7.8+15.4=23.2   23.2 vs. 17 (Does create a triangle)

Andre ran 2 kilometers in 15 minutes, and Jada ran 3 kilometers in 20 minutes. Both ran at a constant speed. Did they run at the
Goshia [24]

Answer:

speed of Jada = 6km per hour which is not equal to

speed of Andre = 8km per hour

They did not run at same speed

Step-by-step explanation:

formula of speed = distance covered/ time taken

For Andre

Distance = 2 KM

time = 15 mins

60 mins = 1 hour

15 mins = 1/60 * 15 hour = 0.25 hours

thus,

speed = 2km/0.25 hour = 8 km per hour

Similarly for Jada

Distance = 3 KM

time = 20 mins

60 mins = 1 hour

20 mins = 1/60 * 20 hour = 1/3 hours

thus,

speed = 2km/(1/3)hour = 6  km per hour

Now we have

speed of Jada = 6km per hour which is not equal to

speed of Andre = 8km per hour

One year ago, a man was 8 times as old as his son. Now his age is equal to the square of his sons age. The present age of son is
Svetlanka [38]

Answer:

The present age of son is 7

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the son age be x

One year ago

Son's age = x - 1

Therefore man's age = 8(x-1) =8x - 8

Now man's age = x^2

Difference between both ages if man =1 years

So

x^2 -(8x-8) = 1

x^2-8x + 8-1 =0

x^2- 8x + 7 = 0

x^2 - 7x -x + 7 = 0

X(x-7) - 7 ( x - 7) = 0

(x - 1) ( x - 7) = 0

x = 1, 7

But son cannot be 1 years

Therefore ,

x = 7

SO,

age of son is 7

age of father is x×7=49

Which equation is the inverse of y = 100 - x??
denis-greek [22]

For this case we must find the inverse of the following function:

y = 100-x

To do this, we follow the steps below:

We exchange the variables:

x = 100-y

We clear the variable "x" (the variable is already cleared):

x = 100-y

We change "x" to "y":

y = 100-x

We change y for f^{-1}(x):

f^{-1} (x) = 100-x

ANswer:

f^{-1} (x) = 100-x
