The distance formula:
d= \sqrt{ (x_{2} - x_{1}) ^{2}+ (y_{2}  -y_{1}) ^{2} }

A(1,1)    B(7,-7)

d= \sqrt{ (7 - 1) ^{2}+ (-7  -1) ^{2} }

d= \sqrt{ (6) ^{2}+ (-8) ^{2} }

d= \sqrt{ 36 + 64 }

d= \sqrt{ 100 }

d=10

The answer is 10

Answer:

i dont know if its right since i havent done trig in ages but

3 \sqrt{3}

Step-by-step explanation:

tan(30)x9?

put the opposite angle inside the () since were doing toa which is tan(sin)=opposite/adj

so if we rearrange the formula to make opposite the subjects its

opposite=tan x adj

this is probably wrong so u might want to check with someone else

The angle \theta_1θ 1 theta, start subscript, 1, end subscript is located in Quadrant \text{II}IIstart text, I, I, end text, a
andrew11 [14]

Answer:

\cos(\theta_1)=-\dfrac{\sqrt{15}}{4}

Step-by-step explanation:

The angle \theta_1 is located in Quadrant II.

\sin(\theta_1)=\dfrac{1}{4}

From trigonometry, we know that:

\sin(\theta)=\dfrac{Opposite}{Hypotenuse}\\$Therefore:\\Opposite=1\\Hypotenuse=4\\Using Pythagorean theorem:\\Hypotenuse^2=Opposite^2+Adjacent^2\\4^2=1^2+Adjacent^2\\Adjacent^2=16-1\\Adjacent^2=15\\Adjacent=\sqrt{15}

Now, in Quadrant II,

  • The x-axis is negative
  • The y-axis is positive

Therefore, the Adjacent angle to \theta_1 =-\sqrt{15}

Therefore:

\cos(\theta_1)=\dfrac{Adjacent}{Hypotenuse}=\dfrac{-\sqrt{15}}{4}\\\\\cos(\theta_1)=-\dfrac{\sqrt{15}}{4}

Split the second term in 2x^2 - x - 6 into two terms

2x^2 + 3x - 4x - 6

Factor out common terms in the first two terms, then in the last two terms

x(2x + 3) - 2(2x + 3)

Factor out the common term 2x + 3

Josiah ran 4/5 mile. How many tenths are equal to 4/5 mile. using a bar duagram
natita [175]
Multiply both numerator and denominator by 2.
4*2 = 8 & 5*2 = 10
4/5 is thus equal to 8/10 or eight-tenths.

With a bar duagram, just divide/split it up evenly into 5 parts then colour in 4 of the pieces. Then, divide as a whole now make it so there's 10 parts - do this by splitting each 5 parts into 2 (put line through middle) to make 10 parts. Now you will see that there is 8 parts that are coloured in for 10 pieces compared to 4 coloured parts when there was 5 pieces.
