The distance formula:
d= \sqrt{ (x_{2} - x_{1}) ^{2}+ (y_{2}  -y_{1}) ^{2} }

A(1,1)    B(7,-7)

d= \sqrt{ (7 - 1) ^{2}+ (-7  -1) ^{2} }

d= \sqrt{ (6) ^{2}+ (-8) ^{2} }

d= \sqrt{ 36 + 64 }

d= \sqrt{ 100 }

d=10

The answer is 10

Alex_Xolod [135]
If Dave has 15 dollars and must spend 8 dollars of it on a book, then he will have 7 dollars left. If he then buys two of the same cards for his friends, the most he will be able to spend is half of 7 dollars for each of them, which will be 3 dollars and 50 cents.

What is an equation of the line that passes through the points (2, -6)(2,−6) and (-1, 6)(−1,6)?
Crank

Answer:

y = -4x + 2

Step-by-step explanation:

To figure out the slope, plug the coordinates in the formula.

y2 - y1 / x2 - x1

= 6 - (-6) / -1 -2

= -4

Now you need to find the y-intercept, take the coordinates and plug them into your equation so far, which is y = -4x + b

y = -4x + b

-6 = -4(2) +b

-6 = -8 + b

2 = b

A circle has a radius of \sqrt{45} 45 square root of, 45, end square root units and is centered at (-2.4,-4.8)(−2.4,−4.8)(, mi
Leviafan [203]

Answer:

x^2+y^2+4.8x+9.6y-16.2=0

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of a circle centre(h,k) of radius r is given by:

r²=(x-h)²+(y-k)²

If radius, r=\sqrt{45}

Centre, (h,k)=(-2.4,-4.8)

Substitution into the equation of the circle formula

r²=(x-h)²+(y-k)²

(\sqrt{45})^{2}=(x-(-2.4))^{2}+(y-(-4.8))^{2}

45=(x+2.4)^{2}+(y+4.8)^{2}

45=x^2+4.8x+5.76+y^2+9.6y+23.04

0=x^2+y^2+4.8x+9.6y+5.76+23.04-45

x^2+y^2+4.8x+9.6y-16.2=0

The equation of the circle is therefore given as:

x^2+y^2+4.8x+9.6y-16.2=0
